No, you don’t have to designate anyone as MOH.

my sister didn’t have a maid of honor, we were all bridesmaids. They had their mothers come and sign the liscence as their witnesses, so that part of the role was null. It worked for us, we all helped out just as much with her wedding.

Nope, in the situation you described, I wouldn’t pick one!

If a shower/bachelorette party is important to you, make sure you have a friend who is at the ready to help with it, since those 3 won’t be much help. Even if you do most of the planning, it’s still nice to have the person that’s the “host” on the invitations. That could be the friend bridesmaid if she won’t get in the way of your planning 🙂
