I tipped mine for the wedding because she came to my house. Not completely sure about the etiquette though since you aren't supposed to tip the proprietor of a business.
I am a make-up artist, I would appreciate a tip, all the money is coming to me, but I came to you... I would say 20 percent, just as if you were tipping a hair stylist.

I have a makeup artist coming to my house to do my makeup for our engagement shot today. She is charging me $50 to do it. Do I tip her on top of that? If so, how much?
