I have a dilemma. I have a good friend from college doing my hair + 3 bridesmaids + 2 flower girls + 1 attendant (she is bringing another girl with her so they can each do 1 of us at a time and it won’t take 6 hours!)
She does not work at a salon, just does hair on weekends and evenings. (but she is AMAZING!!)
She is charging me $40/person to do the hair (except flower girls they are $25) and $20/person for makeup.
Do I tip her in addition to to the $330 I will be paying her?
If so how much? 10%?? 15%??
Thanks in advance for any advice I get!

If she is a really really good friend, I would get her a gift or a gift card. If she is less than that I would tip her because it is still a business transaction.

I would give her a gift as well, especially if she is a good friend like @noritake22 said.

I would consider what it would cost in a salon…If she is charging you a lot less then I would tip more than 20%….If she is charging you pretty much the same…I’d tip no less than 20%…

Since she’s charging you, you should tip. She’s treating this as a business deal & not a favor, so it’s only right to compensate her as you would if she weren’t a good friend.
I would suggest tipping 15-20% & write her a nice thank you note with the $$ tucked inside.
