Just wondering how many of you are open to having "fun" in public (in our case on the beach) on your honeymoon? Of course at night-not in broad daylight! :)

My guy keeps mentioning us doing this, but I'm worried about getting caught. He keeps saying "that's the thrill of it!" What do you all think?

Beaches are a no no in my opinion.  Too many delicate places that don't want sand in them!

We're thinking about renting a private island in Belize for our honeymoon, so it's not that we would get caught at all. I've heard BAD things about sand in "gentle" places, that's what makes me say no!

I couldn't imagine doing it on a beach - getting sand in awkward places LOL. I guess you could use a blanket to prevent that.

But anyway back to your original question. It is not really our thing - we like the privacy of our own space.

It might sounds romantic in theory, but there are too many negatives for me!  Sand sounds painful if it gets in the wrong areas (and the likelihood is high that it will), public indecency issues, etc.

I agree about the sand thing, but my main concern is the getting caught aspect! Thanks for the interesting comments everyone.

@bridegrl Glad you had fun! :)

Definitely not at the beach. Sand is not your friend.

My FI is anxious to do it in the ocean.  I think, with enough alcohol, I'll go for it.  We've been to the caribbean a trillion times and he's never thought about this, but for our honeymoon its his one request.  He's a goof but like I said, I'm gonna try to comply!  :)

I voted maybe.  We aren't going to be near a beach, but will be in a very secluded area, so if my FI suggests being outside, I will probably go with it.  However, there is VERY little risk that anyone would be able to see us.

Yes!  We're going to an island with lots of quiet, secluded beaches, so I'm definitely looking forward to this!

I don't mind a little semi-public lovin', but I don't even like getting sand between my TOES, let alone in other parts. Shudder.

Plus, we won't be on a beach for our honeymoon anyway.

Hahaha yeah, the sand wasn't the best, but it was still hot and exciting.  Do I regret it?  No way no how!

Though, we were on a beach at night when thousands of little white crabs were running around, so that part was super creepy.  Couldn't wait to get away from them!

ok, I may be in the minority but we did it on the beach at night and it was great! It was very thrilling.  You can bring something to lay down on so you're not right on the sand.  Also, I had my FI lay down so things weren't getting my my delicate places as easily.  I say go for it!!!

Doing it outside in nature?  Heck yeah!  Doing it on the beach, even with a towel?  Noooo.  It all comes down to the sand factor.  I was so concerned with not getting it in, um, unfortunate places that I just couldn't quite enjoy myself.

The last time we went on a cruise, let's just say there was a beach that was totally deserted except for one guy eating his sack lunch. And I think it was probably the most entertaining sack lunch he ever had ;-)

I live 5 minutes from the beach. No matter what time of day (or night) I go, there are always a few other people walking around. I've seen people getting it on in the sand at like 3am and it is just a little awkward :p

I hate sand, and a blanket or towel is not going to keep the sand out of the way. Plus the beach at night is cold. And knowing that few beaches are ever empty gives me the creeps. So I guess that is a no for me!

    LMAO @ Scissors.

I usually never comment on intimacy threads but let's just say - been there. done that. & it took 4 showers to undo it. Not romantic. We both agreed.

@ jennifer_espos - just a little FYI too, if you've got sensitive skin, stick to the pool, hotel bathtub, etc. Caribbean salt water in tender places isn't any better than sand. :(

The most adventurous I ever get with locations is the kitchen.  I've always been too paranoid to try anywhere public.  And I don't want to even risk getting sand in sensitive places.

i took a class on couples and marriage last year, and the teacher was a sex therapist.

    her view on this topic?

sex on the beach is a GREAT drink, but not something you should do in real life. guys are 'out', so they're fine, however... girls are 'in', and it hurts :P

    come on girls, be adventurous...

and maybe I should clarify...we were in the surf..trust me, with the ocean waves coming in gently, the sand is the last thing on your mind

also, if the sand is a major issure for you. try a lounge chair conveniently placed under the darkness of palm trees (late, late at night). have him lay on it while you ride...lol Oh, and if your wearing a skirt you don't have to worry much about the indecency factor...

Not on honeymoon unfortunately, as we'll be in Ireland...But early on in our relationship we did it in the ocean in Hawaii once. We were pretty close to the shore with people all around but we went for it anyway. I think we were pretty discreet, noone seemed to notice anything. The funniest thing was as soon as we finished, a lady emerged from the water RIGHT under us with goggles and a snorkel! I was mortified thinking she watched the whole thing but then she yells at us very excitedly, "Did you see that sea turtle? He was right under you! How did you miss it?" We didn't tell her how, LOL.

    Sand. OK

    Hot Tub. NO NO

I'd rather deal with sand than the cesspool of germs that is a hot tub. But, I'm a germaphobe, and have had sand in the bikini area on multiple occasions. I can take a shower to get rid of sand, I'd have to take an antibiotic to get rid of the bacteria.

Hmm I used to be down for that kind of thing for the thrill of being caught.... until you get caught. Which I did! Embarassed By the cops... that was fun explaining that... so since then no. If I was on a private beach/ private island... no one around for miles. Sure! I would be careful of sand though.Yell That would hurt!
