Great idea, it is a very expensive feature to add, but you usually end up regret leaving it out afterwards. Pictures do say a thousand words, but I can imagine how much nicer it would be to hear them.
What a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
I was hoping for a videographer, and any tips to have it and save money are great!
thank you sooooooooooooo much for this info! i am on a tight budget but my sister insists that i hire a videographer for this once-in-a-life-time event! and i agree with her! now, with your suggestion, i can save hundreds! yay!
Thank you!! I will probably do this :-)
What kinds of sites/companies edit the video for you? I'm not sure what to search for.

I got married in 2006, and my husband and I were really tight on money. We were barely able to pull of the reception, our family and friends actually pitched in, and it turned out to be a potluck reception. It actually turned out very nice. Needless to say we couldn't afford videography. It was the greatest mistake. We regret not having video to remember one of the happiest days of our lives.
Lately, I've been hearing about Do-It-Yourself videography. Which is an awesome idea. Family and friends pretty much always bring their own video or digital camera's. You can simply ask them to participate by recording the wedding day. Then, submit their memory cards to a video editing company and they can edit it together to create an amazing professional looking, hollywood-style wedding video for a fraction of the price.
Or, if you're already savvy with the computer, hire a professional videographer, have them record the wedding, ask for the raw footage, and edit it yourself. You can totally put your own special touches in it, like photo montages from growing up or the pics from your honeymoon.
Anyone, who is looking for an affordable way to capture their wedding day on camera at an affordable price should really look into this. It could totally save your budget. I know for sure Tyars Media works with Do-It-Yourselfers, but simply search Do-It-Yourself wedding videography, and you'll find plenty.
