I am feeling kind of screwed. I am a street 14-16 and I ordered my dress in a 14?!?! I don’t know why I did that :/ I was suppose to lose 20 pounds and due to stress and complete sadness I ended up gaining 10 … Yep, I am that girl…
So my dress will be shipped in a size 14 on the 20th of this month and my wedding is in the beggining of March. I am hoping this damn dress comes in running bigger than smaller.
I tried on like a size 8 sample and my stomach and hips looked amazing so I am mostly worried about my horrible back fat sqeezing up and out of the back.
Does anyone have any experiences they can share? I recently ordered medifast to hopefully shed a quick 20 pounds but knowing me I won’t stick to it.

I’m going to say small, only because in every other designer I wore like a size bigger, but in MS I wore the smallest size. I could be wrong though, I didn’t get sized for too too many dresses.

WAIT, WOULDNT THAT MEAN THEY RUN BIG? Because if you were a size 14 in all dresses but you were a size 12 in M.S Then her size 12 is really like a 14 SO MAYBE HER SIZE 14 IR REALLY LIKE A SIZE 16? :)))))))))))) hOPEFULLY!

ALL bridal sizes run small. My dress (not MS) had to be ordered two sizes bigger than my street size and it fits perfectly (lucky me, no alterations).

@puggleperson: They run big, I’m a street size 12 (on most days, lol) and my dress is a size 10. It has a corset, so that helps!

i dont really want to tell you what you dont want to hear, but i wore a maggie dress (karena royale) in sz 10 and i am a street size 8. To be honest, if i could have had an 8in the waist and a 10 for the boobs it woulda been perfect, so maybe theyre not too far off the mark after all. if its lace up the back then youll have a bit more flexibility too. and hey, i was supposed to lose 10 before and ended up gaining 5, happens to the best of us. good luck!

Don’t panic! I found the Maggie’s generally ran pretty much equivalent to the size they stated. But, they can sew a panel into the back if they have to. And, if it’s a corset lace up back there is a lot of room for give in them!

I wear a 6 in street clothes, ordered a 6 and when it came I wished I’d ordered a 4. You’ll probably be fine.

I found that my Maggie was true to my street size. The corsets in Maggies are wonderful things, so don’t lose hope!
Also, If you don’t like the way it fits when it comes in, there is still plenty of time to lose a bit of weight.

I think they run pretty true to size. I wore Maggie Sottero Priscilla and it was a full corset with boning and everything (which does wonders for the waist and tummy). I’m a street size 18 but had to order a 20 because of the “girls”.

I think they run true to size in the hips. My dress was the same street size I wear in jeans (but I ended up losing weight and the hips had to be taken in, in the end)…. But it was WAY too big in the boobs. To the point where the seamstress asked me if I had recently lost 50lbs or got a breast reduction.

I am a street size 18/20. I squeezed into a size 6 sample thanks to the corset and after my consultant took my measurements, she told me that I’d need to order a size 16 and that I’d need the bust taken in a bit. This shocked me because I assumed I’d need an 18 or 20. However, I’m getting a ballgown so the hip measurements didn’t matter.
Here’s me in the size 6 Juliette for reference:

I am street size 10/12 and my size 12 maggie had to be taken in to about a 10. So i would say they run pretty true to size!

I’m a street 14/16 and I had to order a size 20 to make sure it fit over my hips/chest with the waist measurement being way too big.
It also will depend on your style of dress, I purchased Monet, which is a fit and flare, which has to be fitted to the body. However if you ordered a dress that is more ballgown or aline and with a corset back you will probably be fine.

I would google ‘Maggie Sottero size chart’ and look at the measurements and compare them to your own for a better indication. Most dresses with a corset back can go up or down 1-2 sizes depending on the designer. I believe Maggie is one of them that can go up or down at least 2 sizes.
