So....I actually picked out my BM dresses about three months ago. But I think I may have found THE dress tonight and am wondering if the BM dresses match it. Option one (bow dress) is the current BM dress (my girls are wearing brown). I'm now thinking options two and three may be a better match..still in brown.

So normally I think matching the bride's and bridesmaids' dresses is silly, but I think in this case you're right. The lines of your dress (which I really like BTW) don't go with the front of the BM dress. I like both 2 and 3, but I like the top of 3 (it looks like something more than just plain fabric) and the a-line skirt of 2. Not all girls' hips and thighs look good in a column cut, whereas an a-line hides flaws.

I think that not having the BM's dress match yours is fine, but I think you're right as well. I like the 3rd option with a straight skirt the best. = )

Have they bought the dress yet?  Because I think the second is a better fit, but I think the first would have looked fine too.  I don't think it's worth the trouble to get a different dress if they already ordered it, you know what I mean?  But if you're still deciding then I would go for the second.

The first dress with the bow from JC Crew is my FDIL's choice for her bridesmaids also.  She gave her girls a choice between 3 different dresses, and all 8 of them chose that one even though it was the most expensive!  They all said they would definitely wear them again.  They are ordering it in Caspian Blue.  The dresses don't look anything like the bride's dress (Enzoani "Dulcina") but she doesn't care a bit!

I think they are very cute dresses! I think that dress #2 would be most figure flattering for different sizes though if that is an issue :)

Thanks for the input ladies! One of the three BM's HAS bought the dress but it could be easily exchanged for another dress.

I guess I should wait until I make a firm decision on my dress before I ask my BM's what they think. I am happy to have them wear any three of the dresses above.

I really like the first one, I think it's your originial one right?  I would say to keep it, the others are nice, but the first one is much more different and it doesn't clash or compete with your gown.

Yup the first one is the original BM dress...but in brown. The main reason I like it is because all three of my BM's said they would DEFINITELY wear it again.

I LOVE the bow dress! It's different and if your BM's love it - stick with it! It doesn't have to match your dress perfectly - in fact, I think it's better if it doesn't.

If you are worried about it - put a bow on your dress (a sash, tied into a bow) - for the reception. You can also have bows elsewhere - your bouquet - a bow in your hair, a bow on your clutch, etc. to tie it together.

I've never heard of BM dresses matching the bride. I would go with the one you love!

I dont necessarily want them to match perfectly...more so to compliment eachother. Just wasn't sure which dress complimented my dress more. I was thinking that maybe the bow dress was a little too different. But I'm encouraged by some of the responses that say the bow dress would look fine.

I personally love the dress with the bow, I think when dresses are TOO matchy-matchy it takes away from things a little but it's all up to what you're comfortable with! :)

I think the first BM dress you chose looks the best and while it doesn't have the same shape of your dress, it compliments the look.

While I agree you definitely don't HAVE to match the two - I think #2 looks really great beside your dress.

I think the first one (strapless bow) as the same "feel" as your wedding dress.  I think they are both very pretty and romantic.

pretty choices! i think that either of the top 2 would be great with your dress. the flare at the bottom sort of matches your dress. i think that # 3 might be a bit too different.
