DO NOT< DO NOT< DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where Do I begin???!! In February, I went to Bella You with my friend, whom is the Bride. I tried on 3 dresses all by the same designer; Bill Levkoff that were all in the same style, strapless. I paid the deposit which was half the cost of the dress. Last week, July 17th, I went to pick up my dress and decided to try it on before I paid the balance. The owner, whom was the only one working (besides the alterations woman) handed me the dress, which was the WRONG dress. She handed me a dress that had ruching at the chest with some sort of flower and it had a strap. I told her that that was the wrong dress and that I had ordered a dress without all the ruching, no embellishments, that was strapless and had a slit up the leg. She argued with me that that designer doesn’t carry any dresses with a slit. After arguing with her about it, I went over to the rack and picked up the dress that I ordered, which had a slit and showed it to her. She had nothing to say. She instead, argued with me that it was my fault and the error had nothing to do with her staff. I told her her that the mistake was not on my behalf, that I am not a staff memeber of the shop, so I would not know the style codes nor am I, or any customer at that, allowed behind their desk, behind their computer to enter the order information. AND, I didn’t even try on a dress with a strap at that. She was very nasty, would not refund me my money, said that they couldn’t order me another dress and that they wouldn’t if they could. So, seeings that the wedding is in 3 weeks, and she wont issue me a refund, she wants me to pay for a SAMPLE dress that everyone has tried on. The SAMPLE DRESS is 2 sizes to small and requires a Gusset to be put in. She left me with one option – and that was to buy the SAMPLE DRESS and pay for it to be hemmed and I wouldnt be charged for the Gusset to be put in . After arguing back and forth, she offered 10% off. So, I have to pay full price (minus 10%) on a SAMPLE dress that has been tried on by hundreds of woman that 1) I didn’t order 2) I have to pay for it to be hemmed 3)I have to pay to have it cleaned. **NOT TO MENTION THE DRESS HAS THE WORD “SAMPLE” EMBROIDERED ON ON THE LOWER LEG AND DUE TO THE MATERIAL IT CAN NOT BE REMOVED!!! The owner told me to come the following Wednesday (July 24) to be fitted, so, I found a sitter, went to the shop and the alterations woman left early! (and she’s only there on Wednesdays) So, waste of time, gas and a baby sitter. I filed a complaint with BBB. I went back yesterday (July 31st) I HAD TO CALL THE COPS!!!! I went there for my fitting, told her my name and that I had an appt. and (the Owner) snottily said “I don’t like what you did”; referring to my BBB complaint, I told her that quite frankly I don’t care and that I am extremely dissastified with their service. She followed to say I was childish, ridiculous and unfair! After “scolding” me, she told me I would not be allowed to try on a dress or talk to the alterations woman without paying for it in full!!!!!!! Mind you, I technically, don’t have a dress! So I argued with her that I needed to try on 1 of 2 dresses and ask the alterations woman if something would be possible with the second dress. She said I was not allowed to try anything on or speak to anyone without paying in Full and I will not be wasting anymore of their time!!! Ok, the wedding is in 2 weeks! And I have NO Dress! She was holding my dress “hostage” ! So, I had to call the Cops. After speaking with the Cop and him speaking with the Owner, the only option I was left with was A) the the loss on the deposit I made because she won’t refund it and tell the the Bride I can not be in the wedding or B) Pay for the remaining balance of the dress minus 10% plus the cost of the hem. So, seeings that I can not tell the Bride 2 wks before her wedding that I can’t be in it, I had to pay the remaining balance. So, $205 later, I was warned (from someone there) that she would be spiteful and would not have my alterations done on time for the wedding (I guess it’s happened before!) So, I had to take
my dress to another shop for the alterations which is another $80 and then I have to bring it to the dry cleaners! So, going back to the situation, The Cop had to go in the shop with me while I finalized the purchase which was a good thing because.. SHE TRIED TO SELL ME THE WRONG DRESS! YET AGAIN!!!!!!! So, if the Cop wasn’t there and I just went ahead and paid her before trying it on 1) it would have been the wrong dress again 2) She would have charged me for ALL ther alterations when she said I’d only be responsible for the cost of the hem and they dont give refunds or exchanges! Why wouldn’t I try ther dress on, be fitted and then pay for the balance and the cost of the alterations? Because she wanted me to be stuck with the extra cost! SO, how many times did she screw up the dress? and she was snotty, rude and had no compassion. The woman who does the alterations said “It happens all time, all the time.” She even told me to go somewhere else! She told me to go to Buffalo if I had to!!! I also want to add that I wasn’t the only person whose dress wasn’t correct (in my bridal party) and they ordered another Bridesmaids’ Shall in the wrong color. They didn’t place phone calls to everyone in the party notifying them that their dresses had come in, one girl (who never received a call) had to argue with the staff there to go in the back and look for her dress after they told her she never placed an order; mind you she had her receipt! Low and behold, they found it. When she asked for her shall, same scenario; they claimed she didn’t order one, they argued, the staff went in the back to look and it was there BUT it was the wrong color!!! I, and my whole Bridal Party have had such an awful experience with them. Please, Please, save your self the Financial Loss and aggravation of doing business with them and, SPREAD THE WORD!
