The review I posted on wedding wire for the dj that serviced my wedding reception:
We cannot say enough about his guy! He wooed us on the first meeting—charisma u the ying yang.

We had no dout that after food, the music/dancing was goin to be the highlight of our reception.  We contracted with this guy through Absolute Entertainment.  We had not budgeted for the exorbitant fee he initially asked for, so we were going to choose another dj, but he worked within our budget.  We were still over budget but we were loving him and thought he was worth it.  Two months prior to our wedding he left AE under not-so-amicable terms.  We didn't care what had happened, we still stood by Jason, because we thought he had our number as far as music went. Huge mistake.

On our second and last meeting (on a Saturday morning, at his house/home office, for convenience) things went south.  We waited for him at least 20 minutes so he could roll out of bed while we were entertained by his pets.  After this meeting we got a feeling he might not deliver.  When we suggested he visit the venue (that he'd never been to) he refused because it was too far.  What vendor does that?  We gave him a long list of must play songs, which he pretty much ignored He only played about 6 of them. The music he played was poorly put together.  My heart prunes as I think back on that part of the evening.  He's definitely not mic shy, as his endorsement by D Bryant Photography states.  He used the mic for comments that our guests did not need to hear.

We could go on and on about how disappointed we were/still are. This guy turned out to be a farce, lazy, unprofessional and tactless. We would've done better using an iPod.

That is the review I posted on Wedding Wire for JASON CANAAN. He, not only, called the very next day to argue with my husband about it.  He even offered to return gratuities if we took down the review.  We didn't take it down and so he disputed it, as he had threatened to do.  I guess that's what he does in order to maintain his 5.0 rating.

Wedding Wire conducted their investigation—to follow protocol I guess.  I submitted proof and the review was still removed without any feedback on the result of the investigation after I submitted the proof they requested.

Since Jason left Absolute Entertainment (the company through which we signed a contract with him) he hides behind the name of a new company, Quality Entertainment, which varies as Jason Canaan and Quality Entertainment. So even though he single handedly did the music arrangements for our reception he wants us to put the review on Absolute Entertainment's page.

Girls, I hope you realize that WW/WB/PW are all in the same. So, whatever reviews you see on WW are the same on all three sites.

    Is there something i'm missing?

AngieLP is right.  Be aware that the new Vendors tab, here on Wedding Bee, is powered by Wedding Wire.  Wedding Bee partnered with Wedding Wire early this year--just found out last week.

Just thought id point out that Wedding Wire, Project Wedding, Martha Stewart Weddings and YES, Weddingbee are all affiliated with each other. So if you are not trusting the listings on Wedding Wire, you are also not trusting the listings here on Weddingbee since they are Exactly the same.

    just saying.

wow.. well i shall not be trusting wedding wire then.. or many other online reviews. its very upsetting that they do this because then it defeats the whole point of the review process. They just care about making the vendors happy I guess. Which is a darn shame

I had the exact thing happen to us! I'm a little late on this thread, but was searching for something to post on. And most recently, I posted the same review on here as a comment (not a review) and the vendor flagged my username for spam. WeddingBee removed the post. Clearly you can tell I'm not a spammer, since I've posted on here since 2008!

So where can brides write an honest, but negative review. Not everyone has 100% positive experiences with vendors, and it's important to showcase reviews from all spectrums. Obviously a vendor will dispute a negative review- but do you know the real way to make them dissapear? Don't act in a way that will cause a negative review to be written!

Has anybody else had this happen? I'm curious if @AMIKES120 review ever was re-posted!

WeddingBee reviews are linked from the WeddingWire database. My review that I posted on WB, was left as a new thread in the beehive board. And that was taken off as well, since it was claimed as "spam" from the vendor it was about. Surprised?

AGREED Wedding Wire does NOT properly monitor the reviews on there.  I had a vendor ROYALLY screw me over (to the tune of almost sueing me for $1,200 for returning rented goods ONE DAY late) and I went back on to look at the reviews again. Turns out about 80% of the positive reviews of that vendor were the exact same language just changed a smidge and posted by "different" people. Ohmygoodness I was so mad.  If you considering a vendor have them give you real references to contact.

Did any of you who had your reviews disputed ever get them reinstated?

My review was reinstated, but only after I faxed a stack of documents to back up my claim. I just thought it was kind of rude that I had to show so much info and the vendor was able to just click and render my whole claim fake. What issue are you dealing with?

@sgarrison2:  Similar.  My review for All Night Long Entertainment (not Southern) had good and bad feedback.  It was mediocre.  Which, of course, isn't what any of us are hoping for in a wedding vendor, but still...if I was just looking to do a smear job, I was being pretty subtle.  The thing that I appreciated most about them was how nice and responsive they were during booking and planning.  This kind of shoots my high opinion of them as people all to hell.

I am waiting to see how quickly and in what way weddingwire resolves this before I go totally bonkers, but I'm pretty resolute to try to get the word out to future out of town Googlers.

They were on the preferred vendor list at my reception venue, so I'll be letting them know too.

My rating was recently taken down from wedding wire. Unfortunately, weddingbee and the Knot are both run by wedding wire. I'll try posting my review here - it's worth a try.

OMG! Im glad Im not the only one! I did the same thing and it was my dj (Kevin Russell out of Tupelo, Mississippi) he even lied to me so that I would take it off. He did do a great job but after thinking about what happened after he called me he straight lied to me because he said the coordinator told him to leave because we were leaving but he came out and talked to us after we did our fake leave so that we could get the pictures and come back and hangout with everyone! I am so mad. I feel bad for everybody who has to deal with him now. I would hate for them to lie to them as well. I am so mad that I actually trusted and believed him! THat makes me mad! I would love to help people and let them know in person how my vendors were because my photographer was horrible and I feel so sorry for everybody that they run over.

Bump! SO true! Don't trust anyone with too glowing of reviews. It just means they police their reviews more.  I just had my mediocre review taken down. Ridiculous!

Wow. I got ALL of my vendors through wedding wire. That is such a shame that this happens. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones - I was VERY happy with all of my vendors that I foudn through wedding wire. Now this makes me think how many of them hwad bad reviews.

    Such a shame!!

I agree, do not trust project wedding or wedding wire. I left a negative review for a photographer, spoke nothing but the honest truth about my photographer Sam Hurd, and project wedding (now owned by wedding wire) deleted my negative review!

this seems to be the case on many sites, not just a Wedding Wire thing. I have heard a few stories of people getting bad reviews taken off other places, not just wedding wire, really stinks, I think you can only really trust the Better Business bureau

Definitely write Google and Yelp reviews. The more place your story is the better.

I always try to be careful about online reviews and to take them with a grain of salt. I prefer to listen to the personal recommendations of friends and of other vendors I do trust. My wedding coordinator recommended a photographer and I looked up his stuff. It was AMAZING, but... he had an awful Yelp review, and it was the only review of him on there. I got nervous, but then I saw on his facebook that he had seen the review, had no idea who this supposed bride was, and had never been contacted by her in person about her complaint. And after that, all these brides he had shot responded to his fb post that he was amazing and didn't deserve this review, and so on. We ended up booking him, and he's been nothing but a joy to work with. Our engagement sessions was amazing and we cannot wait for the wedding, and it turns out that he shot my neighbors wedding, and she was thrilled with the experience and the pictures.

After the wedding, I'll certainly write my own review.

I posted my review on Yahoo and it hasn't been taken down. It wasn't even that bad - just mediocre. It was the first review of the florist on Yahoo, so for a second I was wondering if that was unfair, but the trouble this woman put me through was much more unfair. She has collected plenty of glowing reviews on Wedding Wire to balance it out (although who knows how many other bad reviews on WW have been taken down). But in the end she didn't get my business and I got a much better florist, which is really what matters. My mom is a wedding photographer, and although she would never smear another vendor, if a client asks for referrals or if she has worked with this florist, I'm sure she will give her honest first-hand opinion.
