- Wedding: May 2011
Just wanted to save another bride the stress by writing this. I found Missy on Craigslist where she was looking for clients to build her bridal portfolio so we agreed that she would do makeup for the bridal party in return for the professional photographs. When booking I also offered her money for a deposit which she declined (should have been a red flag).
My wedding is long distance so I warned her that I would not have too much time and tried to schedule a trial and to sign the contract during my visit but it ended up falling through because I had too much going on so I let her know in advance that I would reschedule. When I called, e-mailed, facebooked to reschedule a trial and to ask her to send me the contract to sign I did not hear from her. I left multiple messages and when I returned to her Facebook found she had deleted my post without any response. So I’ve officially given up and it’s too late to find someone new since I don’t live in the area so I’ve decided to do my own. I just wish she had contacted me to let me know if it was something we could have worked out or even if she couldn’t do my makeup anymore.
My advice is save yourself the headache of having to chase after this vendor. I’ve found other great vendors and I wished I had listened to my gut on this one!
