Perhaps I am cynical, but I think with all these RSVP issues brides have that some guest DO want you to make that call. That way they don’t have to do any work and you do. I can imagine some people just going *shrug* “I’ll talk to her when she calls.” lol

I utilized FB for it. I made a status that said “RSVP’s are due today _______ and ______” I tagged them in the status to call them out and I got a message from one of them (a guy) later that night. The message made me feel horrible for doing so because he’s a cop and had been working double overtime because our area was just hit with a snow storm. It basically went something like this:

“I’m so sorry I forgot to send my RSVP. I swear I will mail it tomorrow but in case you don’t get it myself and my +1 will be attending. I know how stressful the whole process is and I can only imagine how the little things like not receiving back RSVPs can get to be. I feel awful and I promise you should get it in a few days. You’ve handeled this whole wedding planning process so well and I can’t wait to join in your special night.”

It was seriously the sweetest thing and it made me feel horrible! I got the RSVP two days later with another “sorry!” written on the envelope 🙂

@tinylittlebird: Um… I could see that being really awkward.

Something like “Uhhh.. hi.  You don’t know me, but I’m marrying _____. So….are you a yes or no for our wedding?” lmao

@tinylittlebird: Hahaha. Depending on her hearing and how feisty she is, she would probably swear at you for pranking her and then hang up on you.

@tinylittlebird: FB chat has been weird recently though… I’ll shut down my computer and get on it when I get home from work and I’ll have a FB chat from somebody from like 2 or 3 am when I was definitely asleep and my computer was off. Then I feel like an a-hole because they’re like,

Jim: “Hey! You’re up late, what’s up?”
(No answer after 5 minutes)
Jim: “Fu.. you too.”
*Jim is now offline.* 2:13am

🙁

@tinylittlebird: I would definitely make the person wh pressured you into inviting these people make the phone calls for you.

If that person’s attendance is so important to the family, the family should have the phone numbers.
