I don't know about any of you but I always think that I look good in something... and then I get pictures of myself in it and yeah, not so much anymore. I am a bigger woman - size 18 but in my head I am still the skinny chick lol

I am wondering if it is at all possible to get pictures of myself in the different dresses when I am trying them on just so that I can see what they really look like on me? I am thinking that they won't allow it?

It depends on the store you go to. All of the bridal stores I went to let me take pictures, and I don't think I'd be able to purchase from one that didn't, because it was really important to me to see how the dress photographed.

However, there are always ways to get around this. Just sneak a camera/cell phone into the dressing room! Smile

I was thinking that but when I tried on dresses for my first marriage, they didn't ALLOW me to try on dresses alone. It was so irritating.

some stores don't want you to.  My feelings on the topic - if i can't take a photo of myself so i can see how i'd look in pictures, FORGET IT.  I'll shop somewhere else.  Same with anything else - i went to the dooney and bourke (spelling??!!) store @ the outlets to look for a carry-on piece of luggage.  The salesperson told me not to take a picture of the thing, so i just put it on the counter and left and purchased something at Coach - much more friendly store.  Too bad, b/c at first glance I think I liked the D&B one better, but won't spend money there now.  Buy your dress somewhere that makes you feel comfortable.

I definitiely agree with Melissa.....I wouldn't buy from a store that wouldn't let me take pictures. I found my gown at a store that wouldn't let me take pictures and went to another store that would and bought it from them. I went to a ton of stores and most of them let me take pictures of the gowns. I've heard that some girls sneak pictures in the dressing room if they are told that they can't take them.

    Good luck dress shopping!!!

Some do and some don't. And some that do will let you take pics of certain brands, but not others. I would never have picked a dress I couldn't take a picture of. Because seeing pictures of me in the dress is how I actually decided that the first dress I picked looked really bad on me!!

You should always ask the store before just snapping away but honestly I couldn't buy a dress unless I went home and thumbed through some pictures of me in it and gave the purchase some more thought.

Thanks ladies - those are my thoughts exactly. What seems great in the mirror doesn't always look so wonderful in a photo!

I asked before I went. One place had no problem and the other place did.

But, as it turned out, my bridal consultant at the second place really didn't care. She let us sneak pictures in. I look a little silly since I am off guard in all of them, but at least I know which dress looked the best!
