hi- so my mom is my Maid/Matron of Honor and she is the one i am most concerned about being comfortable in her dress as she is a size 14 and my 3 bridesmaids are sizes 2, 4 and 8 (so they look good in just about everything).
we decided ttat my mom is going to wear the same as my bridesmaids. she picked the dress below. it technically is a MOB dress by Jordan-Caterina. i thought it looked good as a bridesmaids dress…your thoughts??? two of my bridesmaids are happy with it because of the detachable shawl.
also, any opinions on this color? i wanted navy, but this dress only comes in bright blue. so i was thinking of going with this green. please help – does this pass as a bridesmaids dress??

I think it definetly works as a bridesmaid dress!

ya it’s fine except for the shall. it makes it look a little older. I think though that if just your mom wore it as the Mom and the Maid/Matron of Honor it would look appropriate.

i wanted to add that two of my bridesmaids are in their late 30’s, so they felt the shawl was good for the ceremony, they would take it off at the reception.
my other thought was to have the bridesmaids wear this Jordan dress in the same color as my moms..i thought they went together

I love the dress your mom picked out! If I were a bridesmaid i’d be very happy to wear it.

The dress in the original post does not look like a mother of the bride dress. That said, many dresses online that are listed as being for mothers look much more like standard bridesmaid dresses instead of what mothers typically wear or are comfortable in.

i would wear the dress your mom picked out only if i could cut the sleeves off…that’s what makes it look matronly.

I think if your bridesmaids are happy, then it works. Maybe have them wear no shawl?

Oooh sorry i clicked the wrong option i think it looks great as bridesmaid dress, and moh/mob dress. I like the fact that it has a detachable shawl, maybe the bridesmaids can remove it and your mom/moh can keep it. PS i think its awesome that your mom is your moh.
