- Wedding: September 2013
I’m getting married in about a month now and still trying to work out the decorations. The theme, if there is one, is just ‘rustic Virginia’. We’re doing a short outdoor ceremony and then a backyard barbecue at a historic plantation home in the Shenandoah Valley. I’m about to make table runners right now out of burlap, but I’m starting to wonder if all the design elements I have planned go together. Specifically, I’m wondering if these burlap runners will go with china place settings. What do you guys think?
More details about the wedding décor:
I got these sage tablecloths from linentablecloth.com
I’m renting mismatched china settings from tradesy.com
We’re going to use pint mason jars as wine/beer glasses
For vases: we’ll use amber 750ml beer bottles as vases (like these)
More vases: = amber beer growlers (big jugs [stop laughing] like these)
We have tons of brass candlesticks that I was planning to put on the tables.
Then there’s the burlap runners, which I’m making.
For flowers, I am going to try to find wild flowers in pink, burnt orange or neutral –tones. I think was thinking orangey-pink mums and/or autumn joy would look nice.
