SO and I have made appointments to look at 3 venues the week after Thanksgiving and each and every one of them have asked for my cell phone number. I don’t give my cell phone number out unless it’s necessary, because I don’t want to get alot of sales calls, etc. So my question is, do they really need my cell phone number when I already have their numbers and can call them if I need them. I mean it’s not like I’ve decided on any of them, this is only our first trip (of many lol).

What about if they need to contact you re time change? I’d happily give my number rather than getting to the venue to find out they’ve double booked.

Get a google voice # and have those calls forwarded to your cell. Problem solved.

I’d give them your cell in case they need to get ahold of you to cancel last minute etc. If after you rule out the venue they call to inquire just make sure you be straight and say it wasn’t what you were looking for but thank you for their time, that way it’s clear your interest is gone and they won’t call again. However if they do call again that’s when I’d get firm and tell them to lose my number.

If this worries you, pay for a Skype phone number. They can call and leave you messages, and you don’t have to put up with a million calls throughout the day.

I don’t think they need it at this stage of the game. After you book them, yeah they probably do. Feel free to say no.
