Wanted to take a quick poll. Right now our menu is this:
- salt potatos (upstate new york, holler!)
- roasted vegetable and orzo salad.
My mother is really bugging us to add a third entree option, and I know a lot of people have their third as a vegetarian dish, but given that we’re (1) hosting the reception at a bbq restaraunt, and (2) only have one vegetarian coming, if I did get a third, it would probably be another meat (brisket?). Frankly, I would rather save the money and put it in our savings account to put a down payment on a house.
What do you think? Do we need a third meat option?

Whats in the mojito chicken?

I voted save your money- I think you’re already plenty generous with the offerings you have. As long as there’s enough for everyone, that’s all that matters. Also- mojito chicken sounds AMAZING!

As a Vegan I voted no, save your money. I wouldn’t expect there to be a whole lot to eat at a BBQ place for Veggies. If it’s at a restaurant I would probably contact them myself and see if I could order (and pay for something…or like I’ve done in the past – bring something of my own and be very discrete when eating it). One thing I hate is how people with special “diets” assume something should be prepared especially for them, but thats just a personal opinion.

@Bostongrl25: The mojito chicken option is “5 oz. skinles breasts marinated, topped with BBQ sauce and grilled. Has a light citrus flavor.” That’s really all its says about it on the menu, but it is pretty delcious!
@cora_123: Thanks for the input! The venue is super flexible, so what we’re planning on doing is asking the one vegetarian to pick something from the downstairs menu (downstairs is the restraurant, upstairs is a venue space), and the restraunt is going to bring it upstairs for him, as if he had ordered “to go,” but we’ll be paying for it.

I think your offerings are fine. A vegetarian has options there.

Assuming the salad, potatoes, and mac and cheese are vegetarian, I don’t know you’d need a third otption. Looks good!

If it’s buffet I think you’re fine. If it’s plated I think you may need a vegetarian option.

You have MAc and Cheese already. I’d just make sure that it’s prepared vegetarian-friendly and call it a day!

Save the cash! Sounds delicious, by the way. 🙂

If you’ve only got one vegetarian, forget it. I’m a veggie and I would be fine with mac n cheese and some vegetables. Plus, a lot of veggies are prepared that there’s going to be some restrictions with wedding foods.
