I can't see the chairs clearly, but they don't like clunky or hideous, so I wouldn't get them as as long as black is complimentary with your colors. Personally I find the table to be too plain and boring. However the majority of your guest don't care about it, and if you not big on doing that by all means don't stress yourself out about it. I think a majority of guest probably won't care either way.
@TwoCityBride: Yeah, I think I'll do something more with the centerpieces, since we'll be saving money on the chair covers.
It's not that hard to find something reasonably priced for centerpieces.
Thanks for replying!
Oh ok, you probably diy your centerpeices! I seen a lot of nice centerpeices posted around the bee. Good luck with everything.
I'm not a big centerpiece person, so I say keep the centerpiece and cover the chairs.
It's quite plain, but I really don't think it's a big deal. With so many chairs and people in the room, I've often felt like elaborate centerpieces make the room feel extra crowded. I am hoping that people get up and dance and socialize at my wedding, so I'm not anticipating many people sitting there and analyzing my centerpieces.
When I've seen of my parents' wedding or aunts and uncles weddings, the decorations and lighting weren't nearly as elaborate or customized as they are at weddings today. But everyone still had a great time and the day was still special! That's all that really matters.
I would *maybe* make custom table numbers, just because those are the same numbers they have at my local pizza place. Or maybe that's what's charming about them!
@sunsetchristy: Thanks for your reply. I agree with you...especially about the numbers :) I'm definitely going to make new ones
If you want to dress it up a little, keep the chairs and just put chair sashes on them.
@lauraashley09: I would definitely skip the chair covers if you're trying to save $. I didn't even think twice about chair covers before I was engaged, and then it's easy to get sucked into how pretty everything looks and want them. I'm glad I stuck with not getting them.
For centerpeices, you can always try to get things that you can resell easily. I actually made double what I paid for on my centerpieces. I used IKEA lanterns ($8 each) and wired tealight pumpkins from Wal-Mart ($9.99 each). My mom sold them as part of her candle business for $20 and $22 each and all 25 of them were gone within days.
Dollar Tree has taller vases for $1 each that you could fill with fake flowers with water and floating candles. I don't think those centerpeices look awful by any means, but I definitely think you can find other ones you may like more for a reasonable price. :)
@Flyin_Brian: that's a good idea
@MadTownGirl: Wow! That's awesome! I'm definitely heading to IKEA lol
I actually rearranged our budget since we are spending about 2,000 less on the photographer than we thought, so now I'm going to go with chivari chairs and do a DIY centerpiece. I have so much time to work on them, and we have the money.
Now I have to think about my wedding colors!

I would like to save money on unnecessary things. I like the idea of chair covers, but the chairs provided by our venue are black, so it's not like they stick out like a sore thumb.
Also, would it look bad if we didn't do centerpieces, and stuck with the venue's centerpieces? Although I think if we save money on the chair covers, I could do more with the centerpieces.
Our venue provides everything pictured:
