We disagree, but compromise well (or should I say, I don’t demand my way).  I want him to be happy with what we pick, and if I don’t ‘hate’ it, I’ll go with it (even though he usually hates my first pick for most things).

This is a good topic!  Since the wedding, we’ve been getting more into decorating our apartment.  Overall, I think we have similar design ideas and like the same color schemes.  I think he’s a little less modern than I am and I’m a little more willing to try bolder colors. In fact, I really want to paint a coral or orange accent wall in our dining room, but I don’t know if I can get him on board.

I think if it were up to him completely, he’d want our whole place to have a "laid-back, beachy" vibe with neutral colors in all rooms.  I used to like that, but the older I get, the more I want more of a sophisticated look.

We both love antiques.  We love the same style.  Antiques mixed with some west-indes style…classic and elegant with a light breezy feel.  I want my room like a hotel room I had in charleston a few years back!  He loves that style and we get veranda and a few other home decor mags now and then (one from Charleston btw is a favorite as well as Savannah.)

We both want to have a home on the coast in the near future too!

Same or pretty darn close- we both love antique library style- except I love creepy things, so old antique wood/wicker wheelchairs, medical tools and medical bags, cabinets, lots of old school antique leather furniture, medical books, dental tools, skeletons, etc. And southern ugly jugs (face jugs!). He loves steampunk, so we can compromise on things like the old re-done railroad cart for a coffee table, and the custom made wood coffin coffee table in the other living room. Though I do have a lighter hot pink living room that is in the works, and the dining room is a lovely obnoxious orange that I fell in love with! The other two living rooms are the dark/antique-y look. Our house is a bit creepy/random/weird, lol- here are some pics, less people think I’m crazy, I promise it makes sense!!! We’re in the process of re-doing our lil place, so this is a bit of what we’ve completed thus far 🙂

Absolutely NOT!!! My FI likes more modern looks, ya know… he would do a whole room with black walls and furniture so odd you wouldn’t know whether to sit on it or use it as a torture device! He calls everything I like "country" – no I don’t like roosters in the kitchen and rustic things, I love more classic pieces. It was pretty funny to see us trying to compromise on furniture for our new house- the poor sales lady thought we were some kinda comedy skit

We’ve had the BEST time decorating together!!  FI doesn’t care either way as long as he’s got a big HD T.V. and he can watch the Bears play on Sunday he leaves all the decorating to me!!  It’s great!!  I pick everything out and he hangs up all the pictures and things I need on the wall!!  He’s a yes man and I absolutely LOVE it!!  I’m very lucky.  Peace & Love!!

We haven’t really been able to decorate yet since we still live with the in-laws, but Mr. Joe is pretty good about just letting me pick stuff :p Like for bed sheets I’ll ask for his input, and as long as it isn’t overly girly, he doesn’t really care much!

Hmm… My spouse and his decorating style… That would be, well, non-existent… so it’s pretty much up to me!
