I voted "maybe." I guess I have no real reason to believe they do or do not exist. If that makes sense... When I watch those shows, I definitely get sucked in. I also went to college in one of the "most haunted cities" (Athens, OH). Going there gave me a special kind of perspective on ghosts, hauntings, etc. I used to watch that Sylvia woman (can't remember her last name) when she was on Montel. Oh! And John Edward...I think I watched like 4 straight hours of his show once.
First of all, we watch this show all the time. It's really entertaining, whether it's really ghosts or not!
To answer your question, I don't necessarily believe in ghosts in the traditional sense of the word. But I definitely believe that energies and presences can be left behind when someone passes. I definitely believe in the presence of the human soul (or spirit or whatever you call it). And I think that people affect their surroundings in a way that leave some kind of impression.
However, I don't think that the impression of the spirit sticks around to complete unfinished business. I think the energy stays until the person (or persons) who need it no longer have a purpose for experiencing a haunting. I have nothing to prove my theories; it's just all stuff I came up after thinking long and hard about it. But it personally works for me. :)
I'm a maybe....like Mrs Spring, I believe in more of a presense as opposed to actual ghosts. And in my culture (and family) we have some strong superstitions with regards to um fairies and wee people....and fairy trees...sigh

This is a totally random question. We were just watching Ghost Hunters and my husband was picking on the show, and I said that I didn't think people who believe in ghosts should be marginalized. He thinks people who believe in ghosts are a little nuts. (What he doesn't know is that I sort of do!) So I was just wondering if people think ghosts exist or not!
