I’m really wanting to consider it but we don’t have an extra room. For the last few months my SO has been snoring and it takes me FOREVER to fall asleep because I hear him all night. I’m a light sleeper. If it works for you guys then I see nothing wrong with it.

Just an FYI, co-sleep is a technical term meaning that parents sleep in the same room as an infant (and the term is often used to mean in the same bed, though technically that’s just a type of co-sleeping). A lot of people will open this and maybe even vote before they realize you aren’t asking about co-sleeping.

My DH is a pain to sleep next to, but I’m mostly used to it now.

@DuckEBee:  We sleep together but we are on similar schedules so it works for us.

Yes, we sleep together every night, but sometimes it can be a hassle, more for me than him.

I’m a VERY light sleeper, and sometimes I suffer from insomnia and can’t sleep at all. I’ll start obsessing over little noises that I normally don’t notice [like the fan rattling]. Fi NEEDS a fan to sleep, so if I’m having one of those nights, I just stay up all night and catch a few hours when I can. He snores really loud when he’s sick, or on his back, I normally just poke him and tell him to roll over – and he does.

@DuckEBee:  I thought co-sleep was something you do with babies. I learned this term on the “mommy wars” thread. I didn’t realize it was a thing for adults.

Yes, we do sleep together. I always find it strange when I hear about couples who don’t. It’s none of my business and I’m not fussed over it, I’ve just never heard of it except on the bee.

My FI and I sleep together every night, he hates sleeping without me when I’m on a business trip or away visiting family. He’ll even stay up with me if I can’t sleep due to my insomnia just so that we can go to sleep together at the same time.

We sleep together every time I’m over and I don’t mind, but I’m still used to being able to hog my own bed – it’s a beautiful freedom that I really enjoy.  He tends to squish me to the edge.  Also, he’s a light sleeper so I’m really self-conscious when I’m with him, because I know that I move around a lot and can snore. >.<  Besides that, I HATE his awful blanket because it’s made of out a prom-dress-like material. >.<  That said, he loves sleeping together and not doing so would be a deal-breaker for him.

I am a very light sleeper, and don’t allow the dogs in our bed. So a few nights a week FI will sleep on the couch with the dogs. I like that I get better sleep without him, but I do miss him

There have been a few times where FI wanted to sleep in the spare room but I whine and say, “noooooo, you have to stay with me!!!!!” lol The only time we sleep apart is when we’re in a huge fight (which isn’t very often).

I hate not sleeping with him, it feels weird and I feel disconnected. We will see what happens down the road though once we’ve been married for 20 years lol

Oh wait I am confused. I thought this had to do with babies and parents sleeping in the same bed.

DH and I sleep together every night in the same bed with our two pups and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

DH and I sleep together every night, unless he accidentally falls asleep on the couch. I love sleeping together. He likes it, but I’m a bit of a bed and cover hog. But when I’m not there he wishes I was, so I guess he loves it too. Personally I wouldn’t want seperate rooms because I love cuddling and falling asleep next to DH. We also cuddle when we wake up, and it’s quality time for us.
