I work in a cubicle and I have it very decorated and personalized. I find offices without personalization or decoration to be so boring and lifeless---a new girl just started here and her bare cube looks so empty, especially compared to the way the previous tenant had it decked out. My favorite way to decorate on the cheap is to dismantle old calendars and pin the pictures to the walls to make murals. Right now I have French impressionist paintings and close-ups of flowers on the walls and a few pictures of my husband and family on my desk. It really cheers me up when I get to work, and I get compliments all the time from people who stop by.

Do you personalize your office or workspace? What are your favorite ways to decorate? Share pictures if you've got them!

I have lots of pictures up of my vacations, my FI and I, my sister and I, thank you cards from friends.  I have some posters from NatGeo up on my wall, several pictures that children have coloured for me, as well as my Vancouver Canucks stuff!!  People love coming into my office to see what's up.

The best office I've seen was this guy had the Simpson's stuff everywhere.  He had little figures in glass cases.  It was so cute haha.

I have about a dozen pictures of my family up, other than that my office is pretty boring. :)

I have 1 photo of DH and I, a plant and a personal mug for pens.  Nothing else.

I have a plant, a calendar and a few photos and mementos. It's not against the rules to decorate, but in the business culture I work in, it's considered not entirely professional to have a super personalized space.

I haven't decorated my desk. I would love to have a photo of Mr. G here but my boss is totally weird. It's not that we're not "allowed to" but we're really not encouranged to personalize our spaces either. Such a bummer!

I have two drawings my nieces made for me tacked up in my cube. Before I was married, I felt like it would be silly to put a picture of my then FI and I b/c we aren't family yet, but now I might frame a wedding photo and put it up. I would also like to get a plant, but I have a brown thumb so it would probably die.

I have my diplomas for college and law school and my court admission certificate framed on the wall.  I also have some framed awards on the wall. One picture of my FI and I and one of my dog, a personalized clock, some plants. a painting FI painted for me, a mirror, some cards from coworkers and colleagues, and a few items i picked up during my travels.  It sounds like a lot but it's really not.  I try to keep it professional as that is the culture in the legal field.

I started my job six months ago, and I really have no idea why I haven't decorated my office yet. Our company even offers a $50 credit to encourage people to decorate. I guess my excuse is that I was in the last months of planning my wedding when I started there. My coworkers decked out my office the day before I left for the wedding, and I still have most of the vintage humor posters and a couple streamers and paper tiaras on the wall from that. I should get it together and decorate; my old office when I worked on the East coast was totally decked out and I got lots of comments on it.

I have tons of stuff. Lol. If I have to sit in this miserable cube in an office by myself I better be able to have interesting things :)

I have around 10 pictures of FH, family, and my pup. Also a nascar calender, a paper weight from Iraq, and my favorite...my pet fish Pauly D! Lol.

I was just admiring the department across the street from us!  You can tell that it's majority female workers there because it is decked out in Halloween decorations.  It's really cute and homey.  My office, on the other hand, doesn't have more than candy dishes, and everyone always has those, it isn't a Halloween thing.

Then I realized my own office is so not personalized.  I have a radio and my daughter's birth announcement, and that's it.  No pictures of family, nothing.  I find it a bit dreary actually.  My goal is to spruce up my office between now and Halloween!

@AnneTossy: Pauly D, like from Jersey Shore?! LOL Too funny!

I have a bunch of pictures of my husband and I, a dog calendar hanging and the rest is work stuff tacked up on the cubicle walls. Nothing too exciting. Love having the pics of my husband to stare at when I'm bored or missing him. :)

Its not against the rules (that I know of) to decorate, but it would definitely be frowned upon to decorate too much (for our department, at least). All I have are a couple of framed pictures (wedding picture, some of our cat, with friends), and a cool small poster from a Bob Dylan/Elvis Costello concert I went to several years ago.

I have a large window, but its double paned and there is something wrong with it, so it’s almost always “cloudy” between the panes and I can’t really see out – major bummer. I’ve thought about getting a nice curtain for it, as I almost always have the circa 1970’s curtain on it closed.

I'm in a cubical. I have a couple of our wedding pictures up, and a couple of our dog. Plus I have some personal items like my plant, pink shoe tape dispenser, flowery kleenex box, cute magnets, pink post it notes, etc... I work in a department with all guys so I have to have a girly cubicle!

I just took some pictures with my phone.

My desk is a work bench full of tools (I repair medical equipment at the hospital) so it doesn't allow for a whole lot of stuff on my desk, but I do have pictures of my god daughter and my niece pinned on the wall, as well as a calendar. Still haven't put up a picture of BF. I think I'm waiting for an engagement photo or something because I know people will ask if it's my husband (since they already ask if the babies are my kids).

@Jenn23 Yup! I had a snooki and a jwoww, too, but they both died within a week of getting them. Pauly has been kickin' it solo now for 2 months, lol!

I'm in a real office now but when I first started I was in cubical (and I HATED it). I had to cheer it up a bit so I could survive, I hung some fabric on the divider wall, bought some lights and fake plants and made a few paintings.

@AnneTossy: Does the fish have the "guido hair"?  :) Sorry Snooki and JWoww didn't make it. :(  We have fish at home and we've named most of them after Phillies players. :)

I only have a lamp and a poster. I got made fun of for the lamp lol. I work in a predominantly male environment! I plan on adding a couple of picture frames soon, but that's as far as I'll go with decorating!

I have lots of pictures, a calendar and an action figure of Flick from A Christmas Story with his tongue stuck to the flag pole.  I couldn't spend 8 hours a day in a drab cubicle.  That would be miserable.
