we are doing what you are doing and YES ive shuffled it around a lot. once my two bridal showers were over, i took off a few less expensive items & just kept the more expensive ones on there to infer that we want money. we also have a honeyfund & hopefully thats what our younger guests will go with. but we mostly want checks!! 🙂

I’m in a similar boat. However, don’t assume that just beacuse your registry is sold out that people will give you money! If people wnat to buy you a physical gift they will – regardless of if you have a registry or not! THey will just get you something you don’t want!  We are registering for things with the intention they will be for our “real” home when we buy it in the next 2-3 years.  It will be really nice to have all these nice new things to use when we move in!

You aren’t weird for feeling guilty- My FI and I didn’t even register for a similar reason.  We already have everything we need around the house, I’m hoping that people bring us gifts that are handmade or heirlooms, something meaningful.  My mother received a handmade wooden hope chest from her grandfather for her first wedding and I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone thinks of doing something like that for us!

The registry idea just didn’t sit well with my FI when we already have everything we need (though for a while there he tried to convince me it was a-ok to register at Guitar Center.) Haha
