I was going to start this thread off with the question “Are you artistic?” but then realized that artistic is too broad a term to use, and covers a variety of forms of expression. So, I figured this title would be much more to the point.
So bees, what do you draw or paint and what mediums do you use? Do you consider yourself a decent artist?
I paint and draw, though not nearly as much as I used to. Painting is my favorite, and I usually use acrylic, though I was originally taught to paint with oils, but to me those are way messier and acrylic dries fast.
Feel free to attach some pics of your artwork if you like! I can’t because I’m at work 🙁 but I’d love to see yours 🙂

I used to draw a lot, using mostly charcoal. It’s my fav :). There’s a lot more forgiveness and I love shading. I used pastels sometimes too, just for fun, colorful stuff. I really haven’t picked up a drawing utensil since I studied art in Italy for a semester in college. Sucked the fun right out of doing it in boring old USA lol. I do have all of the stuff though, maybe I’ll start again this summer!

I like to sketch and use pastels, even though I haven’t in a long time!
I would consider myself an ok artist. lol. Art is something really hard to judge if you are good… This always made me wonder what made up our marks in art class.

@ jennifer – you should start again! 🙂
@ RedeemedR – I agree with you.. It is hard to judge art because there are so many different kinds and it’s all in the eye of the beholder 😉

i have a degree in art… so yes i do a lot of it! when i was in school i liked oils, but then i did art therapy for grad school and i started doing more of water color then. i think the medium is a lot more free flowing so it’s easier to express yourself and get it all out there.

i paint and draw. regularly. i’d go insane otherwise. though oils and beige carpet in my apartment aren’t the best of friends. mediums? in no particular order: pastels, acrylic, oil, watercolor, sharpie markers, canvas, plywood, charcoal on bristol board!, etc
my Fiance comments when I’m starting to get a little crazy that perhaps its time to bust out the easel again … he knows me so well.

here’s a ketubah i painted for my brother’s wedding. not my favorite, it’s something i painted with them in mind, something i knew they’d like, not me.

Studio art was my second major in undergrad – I’m not prolific, but do enjoy it a lot. Charcoal is my favorite medium – it’s so primal to me. Using the earth with your fingers to create. I miss it a lot. Maybe I’ll take a class at the local community college to get a fresh start!

I illustrate (old school paints and pencils way; not the graphic-y Adobe way)
Hurrah for artistic bees!

I paint. The only artwork in our house is what I have painted. But, a real artist would be appalled. I usually do my paintings because I know what I want and usually I cannot find something out there that has the colors I want.
