Sorry if this is a repeat post, but I couldn’t find a poll on it & was curious.
I drink diet soda, probably about 12 to 16 oz total, not each. I know it has chemicals, etc, but I still drink it :/

@okqueenbee: Nope. I don’t drink diet soda at all. Regular soda is very few and far between because I am very sensitive to the caramel coloring in soda, so if I do want to splurge it has to be caffiene free, no artificial coloring, and if it does I can only do a few sips. I don’t like the idea of aspartame.

I usually drink one diet soda a day. Doesn’t bother me.

I stopped drinking all kinds of soda about two years ago. I feel so much better and now I have no desire to start drinking it again. I always thought people were lying when they said that, but it’s totally true! After a couple of months of not drinking it, I just never wanted it or craved it again. Even if I have a sip now, I’m able to keep myself from drinking the whole thing or drinking it regularly again. I did the same thing with fast food and caffiene. Back when I did drink soda though, I avoided diet. It didn’t taste as good to me and it’s not healthier anyways – just bad in a different way.

Not daily but close enough? I love Fresca. I do not want to live in a Fresca-free world. Is it bad for me? Probably. But is it Fresca? Yes it is. So, you see my predicament.

No, because that artificial sugar is carcinogenic, and increases your addiction to sugar more than consuming real sugar does (they think this is because it’s SOOO sweet even in tiny doses), so is particularly likely to cause weight gain and health problrms much nore than real sugar.
But sometimes I am bad and have a regular pop. I know it’s full of sugar (bad for your health, bad for your figure, and it’s almost certainly derived from GMO corn) and has BPA (hormone disruptor) in the can, and phosphoric acid (bone density destroyer), but, crap, sometimes I just really want a pop. I try to keep it a rare event though.

@okqueenbee: Nope…just not a soda kind of person. During the week, I drink water and lots of it, I might have a cup of mint tea at night if its cold enough, on the weekends I like to drink martinis, wine or scotch….but not too much of that either.

I do almost daily. I used to drink diet coke/diet rite/coke zero in the afternoons and maybe another in the evening. Since getting a soda stream I’ve largely switched to Crystal Light lemonade soda flavors. It deosn’t cause any problems for me. I have a friend who gets headaches from artificial sweeteners, but they’ve never been a problem for me. I like the acidity of the carbonation but don’t want the calories of other sugary soda options!

Yep, 1 12oz can every morning. But I make sure to flush it out later with at least 3-4 12oz cans of beer, so it evens out.

Yes, and I don’t care about what people say about it.

i was never allowed to drink diet products growing up, when i’ve tasted them later on, they have a funny taste to me. like crystal light.
but i stopped drinking soda all together when i was 15.
at 16, I went on a class trip to Prague/Poland/Israel. in poland, we were told not to drink the water and it was hard finding things to drink when only soda was being served to everyone. it was ok then.
now, every now and then i like to have a sip of root beer if someone has it. and i feel every bubble go through me even from just one sip.

No. Stopped drinking soda ages ago. I like Pellegrino for the bubbles.

Never diet soda. Regular soda, maybe as a mixer (4 oz?) once every couple months? High fructose corn syrup and I aren’t friends, and neither are artificial sweeteners and chemicals. Can’t do it.

I never do. I’m not a huge soda person as it is, but if I am going to drink one it is going to be full of sugar. All diet sodas tend to leave me with a headache, so that is probably my main reason for avoiding them. Artificial sweeteners in general tend give me headaches, so I avoid them as much as possible.

Pretty sure my blood is 90% Diet Coke
