I used to just run out the door in the morning, leaving just enough time to grab a cup of coffee on the way to work. However, when I was trying to lose weight for the wedding, I became a breakfast eater for the first time in my adult life. Now I actually like eating breakfast and feel crappy if I don't eat anything in the morning. I usually have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal.
Do you eat breakfast in the morning? If so, what do you eat?
I've always been a breakfast person. A few months ago, I switched from cereal to soft boiled eggs (I don't eat all the yellow) and turkey sausage. I'm amazed at how much extra energy the protein boost gives me.
I used to not eat breakfast when I'd go to school, but when I was working as a nanny I'd eat when I fed the baby his breakfast in the morning. Sometimes I'd get a McDonalds sandwhich (bad, i know) or a parfait, sometimes a bagel, or oatmeal, cereal, or even just a breakfast bar even. Typical easy things, nothing fancy like eggs or french toast lol
I started eating breakfast about a year ago. I used to have egg whites and one piece of wheat toast. Or a protein smoothie with fruits. Oatmeal didn't last too long but I did eat it for a little while. Now that I am not vigorously working out and trying to lose weight for my wedding I stick to a high fiber cereal with lots of fruit like blueberries. I can't believe I used to just have coffee for breakfast.
I am so weird. I must eat right when I wake up. I will start the coffee, get his water boiling for tea, and make something- usually cream of wheat or cream of brown rice with rice milk and mashed banana. It's my favorite. I basically eat it every morning.
I have to eat breakfast. What I eat varies. My fiance likes to make eggs, cheese and grits. YUM. But not so good on the hips. I try to eat cereal, oatmeal, or a smoothie. OR sometimes he makes me a scrambled egg with cheese on a whole wheat english muffin. Yummy. Hmm...I'm hungry... :)
I've never been a breakfast person but I really need to try a little harder. Honestly, I usually don't have my first meal until the afternoon when I get off work and I'm starving. It's really no good. I'm a massage therapist too, so a lot of times if I'm giving a massge in the morning my stomach will start making all these noises and sometimes it's sooo loud. I just don't get hungry until later in the day. This just reminds me that I need to be a little bit better about my weird eating habits!
i used to eat breakfast every morning. then all of a sudden i gained 8bs. so lately in the morning i have a yogurt then for lunch i have a bowl of cereal.
I don't have time before I leave the house to eat, but always bring something to eat at work. Yogurt, granola bar, english muffin. My latest kick is YO PLUS - its fiber yogurt. Sounds icky, but its really good (and good for you).
No... I usually have 2 cups of coffee (if its cold outside) and eat my first meal around noon... usually a sandwich. Food in the morning kind of makes me want to vomit. I know that breakfast is the most important meal but I really love sandwiches and I dont like breakfast food! Plus, eating when I'm not hungry sounds totally bizarre, even though i know they always tell us to do it.
I have to eat something within a half an hour of waking up, or I get lightheaded and cranky. I am a huge cereal junkie, mostly the sugary kind! This week I am alternating between cinnamon toast crunch and cocoa krispies! Yum! Mr. Taffy doesn't ever eat breakfast during the week, but he will on the weekends.
I eat breakfast every morning and usually always its cold cereal with milk and juice.
I eat breakfast of course! Your body is like a furnance and if you want it to work you have to feed it so it can burn! I make either a protein shake or 6 eggwhites and oatmeal with lots of cinammon which is really good for you! Oh and a whole grapefruit too, yummy! I work out at 5am so right when i get up before i head to the gym i eat 1/2 a banana and then make my breakfast when i get home around 7am.
I wish I ate breakfast! Usually I just pour some coffee in my poor stomach. I'll probably have ulcers by the time I'm 30!
I could not skip breakfast if my life depended on it!!! I wake up starving every morning. Lately I have 1 cup Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal with nonfat milk and fresh berries. One day a week I have a splurgy breakfast of an omelette with whole wheat toast. The splurgy part is what's in the omelette: applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and avocado. Yikes, but it's the one "bad" meal I allow myself each week and I go to the gym after breakfast on Saturdays so I work a bunch of it right off.
Yep sure do. I find I become very angry when I'm not fed first thing in the morning. In all seriousness, I ususally go for some oatmeal...not the plain type, the ones that come in a variety of flavours.
Of course if I had the choice, I would have bacon, eggs, sausages, and pancakes every morning...mmm, bacon.
nope. i wish my mom were around to cook me breakfast every morning.
I have to eat breakfast or I would pass out. I have a very long commute, so by the time I got to work, I would be so hungry I'd be chewing my arm off. FI didn't eat breakfast until we moved in together, now he never leaves without at least a Nutrigrain bar in his hand. I will be one of those moms that makes sure my kids eat breakfast before they leave the house! I think it sets the day off wrong if your stomach is empty.
Growing up I really didn't eat breakfast during the week. I may have grabbed something quick to snack on but that was it. BUT as I got older, I actually have to eat or I get a bad headache and feel like I will pass out. So know I may have cereal, oatmeal or a protein shake. I will usually eat eggs or something similar on the weekend.
Breakfast is a MUST for me....otherwise my cranky and dysfunctional side comes out.
My b'fast usually consists of a big glass of water and a blueberry muffin.
I was never really a breakfast person until I was trying to lose this stupid weight for my dress. I NEVER have time when trying to get kids lunches and out the door for my breakfast. My personal trainer encouraged me to just eat low fat canadian bacon so I get some protein in the morning - vs an easy granola bar - it's been really easy and portable like the granola bars are. And I'm fuller in the morning and not starving by 9 am. I have low fat-low cal yogurt at 10.
I grew up eating breakfast and didn't know there was any other way until I got into high school and teachers would ask who'd eaten breakfast and who hadn't (point in fact, a higher number of respondents in the honours/AP classes responded yes then in the normal classes).
That said, I do not LIKE eating breakfast. I am usually not hungry for it, and I am not fond of breakfast food. So I usually eat a bowl of cereal with milk or juice, or I'll eat a piece of toast with peanut butter and a glass of milk. I am boring.
When I was doing my clinical and getting up at 5:00, I would eat a granola bar, a glass of milk, and sometimes a piece of fruit.
But yeah...I don't like pancakes, waffles, french toast, etc. =) I do like crepes, and eggs are yummy (but only scrambled or with runny yolks!), but like I said I'm weird.
Always. Usually bran flakes (I could eat cereal 5 times a day). Sometimes scrambled egg whites with a yummy addition like cheese or leftover veggies.
Back when I worked at law firms, I would keep instant oatmeal packets in my office and use the hot water and coffee cups to make it. I never seem to have enough time to eat before I leave so that was as good as it was gonna get! I would love to have a "real" breakfast every morning though!
I try to eat is everyday I can... like Kitten I'll have oatmeal OR I'll eat yogurt or a Special K bar. I don't like to eat too many calories for breakfast, but I eat something to get my metabolism going :)
I eat oatmeal or a cereal bar with a piece of fruit. I recently started making the oatmeal with millk instead of water. It provides additional nutrition and is more filling.
Okay, DISCLAIMER: this is going to sound weird and made-up like breakfast for a 6 year old, but I've been on this 'Banana Soup' kick-I love it! It's just two bananas cut up really thin in a bowl of skim milk. I love it because it totally satisfies my sweet tooth and skim milk works okay for my lactose intolerence (I'm a nerd, I know). LOL I can't believe I just shared my wacky love of banana soup w you all!
Here lately I have been on a most horrific work schedule where I am not getting in bed until 3 or 4 in the morning then being back to work around 10. So I am just trying to make sure that I eat (sometimes I am literally so busy that I forget) and that I don't snack on junk food instead of having a real meal (yeah a few nights ago I think I had a bag of fritos, a diet coke, and pineapple straight from the can for dinner)
I cannot wait for my life and work to get more calm so I can eat healthier and workout more often!
i have to eat breakfast. if i don't i get pretty crabby. since it's summer my usual breakfast is cereal with strawberries and blueberries. =D
I can't NOT eat breakfast. I'm hungry and I get nauseus with no food in my belly. On the weekends I like scrambled eggs and toast or something hearty like that, but nothing greasy unless I'm hungover (rarely). During the week I don't have the time/energy to get up 30 minutes earlier to treat myself to a hot breakfast, so at work it's typically malt o meal or oatmeal or yogurt. Easy, low calorie, high protein things. Or microwavable organic breakfast burritos. I figure if I can clock my breakfast at 300 calories or under (oatmeal is 150!), that saves me a little wiggle room later should I decide to throw some cheese on my broccoli or something. I try to stay under 1500 cal's a day, so I have to essentially plan my day in the morning or the night before.
I get up at 530, coffee at 7, and breakfast usually around 8. Today i was hungry and had some cardboardy kashi waffles though. Not good, but low cal/high protein/fiber.
I can never eat a BIG breakfast, but it is definitely a good idea to get your metabolism going early in the morning!
If nothing else, I eat a banana (if I'm in a hurry). Otherwise, I'm addicted to yogurt (eat as much of it as possible...it helps your body to fight fat...its so good for you! And when you can get the low cal/no fat containers, why not? I am a fan of the Dannon Light & Fit cups myself).
Or, if I have more time, my favorite combo is to take 1/2 a cup of vanilla yogurt (again, the Light & Fit), and put it over the top of 3/4 cup (1 serving) of Cinnamon Pecan Special K (or any other kind, for that matter, there are so many good flavors!). I love doing that instead of milk, because the cereal doesn't get soggy quite as quickly as it does in milk...I am such a stickler for crispy cereal, I hate when it gets soggy!
Everyday! I have to have some protein, so I eat a lot of pb toast or an egg on a lf english muffin. Lately I've discovered eating cereal in yogurt, too.
I too keep instant oatmeal packets in my desk. I buy the low sugar, lower calorie kind so I can get away with eating less than 120 calories--it's something to get me going, but not too much since I'm not that hungry. I grab a coffee cup and use the hot water here at work. I tried grabbing hard boiled eggs on my way into work but they are a little too stinky for the work environment.
Yup, because most days I wake up STARVING -- since I try not to eat past 8 or 9 p.m.
Always the same breakfast: Cereal (but I change it up after each box so I don't get bored) with skim milk and a small glass of o.j. with my morning vitamins.
Since I was an infant I have been uninterested and intolerant of food unless I have been awake for a while. So for most of my life my "breakfast" has consisted of chocolate milk, instant brekfast, or coffee. Recently I have been making an effort to have a bowl of malt-o-meal abour mid-morning. I haven't noticed any great difference in my life since then, except that I am less hungry later in the day.
I love breakfast and it is so important! It kick starts your metabolism after sleeping and is important to eat!
I usually have a piece of toast w/ almond butter and coffee. Not much but just something to put in my belly!
I always eat breakfast, whether it's a bowl of cereal or eggs. On the weekends my FI and I have bigger breakfasts. But I always wake up very hungry. So I can't skip it. If I do, I feel crappy all day. And then usually eat junk.
Ive been taking a greek yogurt and packing in a ziploc some almonds and fresh berries which I pour into the yogurt once I get to work & eat it :) So yummy & filling- keeps me filled up till lunch which is usually around 2-3pm.
