I do a lot of the time because I will get hungry right before and if my stomach is growling I absolutely CANNOT go to sleep. I've tried. It usually involves tossing and turning for 30 minutes trying to ignore it then I'm up and rummaging in the kitchen.

I know you're not supposed to eat right before bed, or really even after 8 PM (I think it's 8 PM..?) but I have to.

My snack is almost always a small bowl of Special K.

I do this a lot and honestly, I think it keeps my weight in check by not making me feel like I'm depriving myself.

I eat a snack about an hour before I go to bed. If I don't, I also toss and turn. And it also helps me keep my weight in check like veganglam. Ideally, you are supposed to have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. Doing this will help your metabolism and if you are trying to lose weight and are eating healthy, it will help you lose weight.

*sigh* Cinnamon Life...my late night guilty pleasure.  Trying to cut back, tho'.  Extra carbs right before sleeping doesn't seem like the healthiest thing to do...

Glad I'm not the only one! I was looking down at my bowl of cereal going "I wonder if I should really be doing this..."

I've found that not eating a late night snack has been making a difference in my weight overall. If I feel like I'm hungry, I'll drink a glass or two of water and then just go to bed, my body has learned to prefer extra sleep versus extra snacks.

I usually try not to but do sometimes.. Going to bed hungry is not fun.. But I love cereal late at night!

However, I have had metabolism fast as heck my whole life, but I'm now 23 and it's beginning to slow very quickly. Ugggh

I'm with ClairDarling, tea all the way! I usually have mine about 2 hours before I go to bed and sometimes I'll make up a small plate of biscuits and nibbles to snack on before I go brush my teeth.

I don't, because it actually upsets my stomach to fall asleep after eating. Plus I usually eat a fairly late dinner (6 pm or later)

I always eat before I go to bed!  Actually I eat all the time anyway! LOL.  I have Graves Diease and it makes me hungry all the time!  I eat and eat all day and I can't seem to gain any weight.  I know a lot of people say I'm lucky, but really it stinks big time!  I am always hungry, I don't sleep well, I can't find clothes to fit:(  No fun!

Sigh, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I just HAVE to have one before I go to bed. It's horrible.

i try to keep from doing it by having tea or hot cocoa before bed, but I STILL crave my PB&J!

No! I am trying to maintain my weight for the wedding, and I don't want to do diets or anything extreme. So I am just focusing on commonsense measures like not eating late at night, having smaller portions, etc. That way I can still have occasional McDonalds, dessert, etc, and stay at the right weight.

Only if I'm ACTUALLY hungry. I have to think long and hard about if i want food or if i need it. if i need it, i try to keep it low carb and as simple and small as I can. Even two bites, I tell myself, takes away the hunger. And i'll be asleep soon anyways! I started having a few sips of that green protein machine drink and it works out great! Carbs are sort of my mortally sworn enemy after 3pm anyways.

No, but we usually don't eat dinner until 6 or 7 anyway.  And I'm in bed by like 8:30.  :)  No time for snacks!

Carbs help you sleep. And some recent studies suggest eating a little before bed isn't that horrible.

haha i have been trying not to eat before bed because jillian michaels tells me not to, but after i read this i had to go get a bowl of special k. let me just say i steered clear of that cereal for the longest time because i thought it would be gross since it isn't awful for you, but i <3 the red berries.
