Do you ever feel like you are gross?

I certainly have “off” days, where I don’t feel/look as good as I normally do. Either because I’m having a really bad breakout, just not feeling well, or my hair isn’t holding. I wouldn’t say that I ever feel “gross” though. Just a little uncomfortable with myself.

I definitely have those days, haven’t washed my hair in days, can’t be bothered dressing nicely, just hanging out at home. And when I see my body in the mirror, especially when trying on clothes in fitting rooms I definitely feel gross! Then I go and eat some chocolate and make myself feel better haha.

Have a bubble bath, or a nice long shower, listen to your favourite music, talk to your SO. And pick out a cute outfit to wear 🙂

@dannielle89:  I am having one of those days right now at work. I decided taking a nap and not staying awake for 24+ hrs straight, like I usually do on Sundays, was more important than jumping in the shower. My hair is up in a pony tail and I just feel eh. I mean, it’s not like I haven’t showered in days. I just showered at like midnight last night (Saturday), but being that I slept and then went through the day and then napped again, my hair is a mess and i’m just feeling ugh.

I was considered something of a beauty in my 20s but now… not so much. This week I have been feeling especially troll like. We’re having trouble TTC and thanks to treatments and my body being disagreeable I am sporting some wicked acne, new hair facial (ugh), and rapid gain meaning absolutely none of my clothes fit anymore. Fat and hormonal looking with a pregnancy, sure, that would be exciting! But fat and hormonal looking because I *can’t* get pregnant? That’s just cruel. I am in the big ugly lump camp with you right now, but I know I haven’t always been a big ugly lump, and it’s pretty unlikely I’ll always be one (although, I will be old and something tells me I’m not aging like Catherine Zeta-Jones…).

@dannielle89:  I feel this way a week before my period. Exercise helps raise my spirits. paint your nails, take a bath, go shopping.  do something nice for yourself. Get outta that rut girl!

I had an ENTIRE gross week last week, and yep – right before my period. I couldn’t be bothered with dressing nicely, shaving or any of that nonsense. People around me should be grateful I even put deoderant on. Now that I’m in my right head again, I am ashamed, but damn justified at the time.

YES. When I get dressed up I feel so pretty and fresh. It seems that on weekends I turn into a greasy troll. My hair is tied up, no makeup, usually wearing men’s t-shirts and sweatpants. Just generally nasty. FI tells me that if I feel ugly he’ll sleep with me to make me feel better. So that’s…sweet? He’s so selfless 😉

I will shower and put on my favorite perfume… maybe do my nails… stuff like that. If all else fails, I just feel better the next day.

@dannielle89:  Absolutely!  Usually about how fat I am.  On the weekends I sometimes hate myself for not caring to put on makeup before going out (because I slept in) or doing my hair as nicely as I do.  I’ll come home from a quick errand, look in the mirror and think ‘you went out looking like this?!’

Also, I dress nicely all week for work, so on the weekends I wear jeans and a tshirt and ugly flats. UGH.  Now I’m depressed again….

Basically me this weekend into this morning. My cousin hairdresser jacked up my hair so its spotted like a cheetah. I haven’t showered and I’m on shaving hiatus until the wedding (don’t ask). I’m basically the grossest person alive and I can’t stop eating these chocolate turtles. For breakfast. I took a sick day from school and plan on living on the couch today.

It might be the weather, or pre-wedding stress, but the only thing that helps to get me out of a funk like this is a trip to the gym and cleaning the house. When my house is clean I feel more motivated to be a real person. Also, I just started making fresh juice and it’s yummy, so I might try a cleanse.

I definitely have those off days. Especially when I’m PMSing. What I like to do is dance in my room. Souns all corny, but it really does help me feel better. So maybe you can try that, so for a walk, watch a chick flick, or a comedy.

@dannielle89:  I am willing to bet that even Gisele Bundchen has days like that… You can’t always feel like you are stunning.

I am 20 weeks pregant and believe me, I have my fair share of “I feel like a troll!” days.

I usually take those days and do something for myself, like a manicure or facial (DIY) and relax.
