There’s an area of my right breast that’s is fairly tender and slightly painful when I press on it. I’ve done some googling and a lot of sites have said this is pretty normal for women in their 20s, but it still makes me nervous. I have a drs appt in early August just to be sure. I had my annual checkup in May, and the doctor said she didn’t feel anything abnormal, but to come back if I felt it wasn’t right.
It’s pretty much always like this and not just during certain times of the month.
Anyone else deal with this?

MissAch: Hmmm…that’s interesting. I only have tender breasts during specific times of the month (ovulation, period). My breasts can sometimes be tender due to the sheer weight of them. Are you large chested? Are you perhaps wearing a bra that is poking into that certain spot constantly? While I’m sure it’s nothing, it’s good you have an appointment just to make sure.

I only have tenderness during that time of the month. I would defintely get it checked up just to be sure.

KatiePi: Not large breasted. And it’s just one area on my right breast, not both breasts, which makes me that much more nervous about it.

MissAch: Is the bra you wear most often contributing at all? Good luck at the doctor!

I have had this problem as well. My Dr. sent me for an ultra sound as a precaution. It turned out to be nothing. I notice that it’s more of a problem during certain points in my cycle. The other thing that can cause breast tenderness and pain is caffeine.
