I do, occasionally. When I feel gross/ugly/whatever, there’s lots of things I do to help. I have a bubble bath, eat chocolates, do my nails, experiment with makeup, and curl my hair. If I’m in a really lazy mood though, I just avoid mirrors for awhile πŸ™‚

When I feel yucky, I have a complete Elle Woods moment and make a beeline for the nail salon. pretty toes are a must when I get down.

Ugh, yes. I got the first season of Glee on DVD for christmas, watched the whole thing already, and now I feel all fat and ugly and untalented. Sometimes it really gets me down, especially since all my friends are stunners. Sometimes I feel like the token fat girl. But I find going for a walk and having a long hot shower, washing my hair, and spoiling myself a bt with fresh sheets on the bed and a good book, and then I feel much better.

@gingersnap – I will avoid mirrorrs too!

Yes, I sometimes feel unpretty.  What I do is work out (if I have time), take a long shower or bath, do my make up and my nails.  Sometimes, I will go to the nail salon for a manicure pedicure and eyebrow shaping.

I always look at photos where I look really pretty when I get down. I also exercise so that I’ll feel healthier (and thus better about myself).

@soon2bhis: Yes, I think everyone does! Usually it is only a day or a week (period week) but sometimes you just get stuck in a rut where you dont feel your best…especially in the winter! Sometimes I’ll do my hair even if I’m not going anywhere just so I can feel good about myself. Or go buy a new outfit!

I find it really difficult to find something about myself that I actually like. Be it physically or even mentally. I’ve always been like this though. :/

Yes, often! I find that working out always makes me feel better (is that wierd?)

Or sometimes I go on sites like http://www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com and laugh and feel better πŸ™‚

Oh yeah, I completely understand!  For me, it’s usually a feeling of fatness vs. ugliness.  I am in a rut right now…just went to the doctor and gained 5 pounds this year.  I know it doesn’t seem that big of a deal, but I lost about 25 for our wedding day and really thought I had changed my lifestyle for good.  Unfortunately,  once it starting getting cold and daylight savings was over, I started eating more and fell into my fat/ugly mode.

I’m hopeful I can get out of this fat-funk in the New Year when that’s all you hear about on the tv and radio!  I also plan to get out my Jillian Michael’s DVD’s…she’ll kick my butt once again.  lol

Yes.  It happens to me.  I just try to avoid mirrors and give myself “ME” time.

@soon2bhis:My goodness you all seem so hard on yourselves. It’s okay to have a bad day but weeks and months of not being pleased with how you look is not good. What does that do to your self esteem? How do you function without loving yourself despite the flaws? Avoiding the mirror is not the answer. I feel so sad when we are so tough on ourselves. Beauty is a level of confidence, it comes from within, it’s not all about what’s in the mirror.

I believe every woman feel that way. For me it is usualy when my skin acts out from stress (like RIGHT NOW) i have this bump on my forhead and i HATE looking at myself and having to use lots of makeup to cover it up. Even when i hear ppl telling me i look beautiful I REALLY do nto belive them on those days and deep down i feel even more ugly for some reason.

In order to make myself feel better i of crouse take care of my skin helping to get back to normal. and then I dress up make a special night with my dearst husband OR with girlfriends.  have a spa day at home saver the hot shower. Wear something i always feel beautiful in πŸ™‚ also sometimes when my face is not on my prettiest days i focus on my hair spending more time on it:)

also if my skin is bothering me i try to make my eyes or lips the center of attention with making them darker with makeup..i feel that way ppl are less likely to notice my skin πŸ™‚
