What all the bees on this site look like?
I know a few beacuse they've posted pics, or their avatar is a pic of themselves, or because of their gallery photos. But for the others, I find myself always wondering....
Just a totally random thought. And I've been up all night. Just an FYI.
Yup! I imagine what you all look like in my head, and then I'm surprised when I see pictures and everyone looks nothing like I imagined! Haha
I ALWAYS wonder. I'm also super nosy, so I normally try to stalk on twitter and find all the Bees so I can follow them there as well!
There are a few that I am curious about I must admit. There was a thread a while ago where you could post a real pic of yourself. I don't remember when it was, I thinkt here have been a ton of new bees since then though.
Haha yes I do. But my avatar is a oic of me. But I really do. But then it is like reading a book...you picture the characters a certain way in your head and then when you see them in the big screen it is how you imagined or not what you thought at all.. LOL
I picture everyone by their avatars... it always throws me off when someone changes!
I wonder too! I had a pic of me and the boy for a little while, but since it's not private I removed it. He's skeptical that I am on this site (because he knows I know he isn't ready) even though I've explained it's not all wedding related and I like the women here (I love you guys!).

@Amaryllis: Me too. I just picture people as a flower or a panda, or whatever their avatar is.
I don't really wonder what people look like, but then I'm always surprised when I see photos of them.
@Amaryllis: Haha! I'd like to change mine but I'm afraid no one would "recognize" me by name alone. :)
@camrie: you are right! I probably wouldnt know right away.
I always look at the avatars.
And yes... I look like a peach.
I kind of wonder but most of the Bees I'm most curious about have posted pictures so there is no curiously anymore.
I definitely do know everyone by their avatars though so it throws me off when people change them!
my avatar is a pic of me, but probably too small to be able to see clearly. I also wonder this about some bees, but sometimes I think its more fun thinking in my head, cuz I am almost always wrong!

It's so funny because a lot of people don't like to post their photos on here (including myself), but then when their professional photos come in they don't seem to care as much (most likely because photographers put them up on their own sites anyway). I'll probably do the same thing, but I think its a funny cycle!
@Amaryllis: LOL, so I will forever be known as a "Canda?" I really should have put more thought into this...haha!
@katiedee: Is your avatar a cow-panda? Or is that just me and it's a normal cow? Lol
@MissBoPeep: Cow-panda it is. FI is always panda-this and panda-that, and I love all things cow.

OP: Sometimes I wonder, but like someone else mentioned, once the recaps come out curiosity is usually satiated.
ditto on the avatars, that is the main reason I don't bother changing mine. I always get so confused when other members do though.
I think about this too!! Once people post pictures they are usually completely opposite from how I pictured them.
I definitely do! In fact, I was just talking with someone about this - I thought she was AA, and it turns out, she's not. No idea where I got the assumption. :)
What REALLY throws me off is if someone has a picture of not-themselves as their avatar, like an actress or model or something. There was one girl, a while back, who had an actress that I didn't recognize as her avatar and when she posted pics I felt almost lied to, because she looked NOTHING like that actress, hahahahaha... Every time I saw her avatar after that I was like, "baaaaaaaaah. That's not you!"
My pic really is my legs ;) It's one of our engagement pictures.
LOL, it blows my mind when someone looks different than I imagined, too. I got some comments like that after I posted recaps, which surprised me (but then, I tend to think that I look like myself, obviously).
@daydreamwanderer: hotchildinthecity? I remember thinking her avatar was her since I started posting then she posted her wedding pics and I was so confused!
@katiedee: I like the cow panda. Don't see that around the farm everyday!
@camrie: I would probably still recognize your name since you've been on here for so long! It might just take me a day or two to realize it!
@Amaryllis: Hah! This is EXACTLY what happens to me. When someone I see comment often changes their avatar, it makes me reeeally confused.
And yeah, I do wonder how people really look outside of the hive. And even when I try to guess, I am WAY off.
I'm sure that some people wish I had an avatar and if i could figure out how to do it I would totally make one. How do you do it?
Oh my gosh, Hotchildinthecity completely threw me off too! I can usually get a pretty good idea of what someone looks like based on their personality, but that one shocked me. lol
I'm always curious though and I love to see the recaps so I can put the name to the face. I do like play FBI profiler and see how much I can get out of a screen name, an avatar and the personality based on posts. Usually, I'm pretty good at it too :)

But yes - I often do this with people I work with too. We have a lot of people in the field who we talk to all the time on the phone, but hardly ever see...and then they look NOTHING like what I expected them to look like!
I would put my own photo instead of my bunny's, but he'd get all offended :-) Plus, we're practically twins, Oliver and I.

it is just like reading a book! I associate bees with their avatars, but I think the content of the posts influences my mental image of what they look like. There are a few avatars that influence how I picture bees, like MissHobbit's. I picture her ethereal, bohemian chic. I don't really know why!!! haha.
@2PeasinaPod: I know, I thought she would be a little sexy too. Wrong! lol
People you talk to on the phone can fool you good, especially if they have an "attractive" voice and they're well, not. Or vice-versa.
I wonder this too!
And I also wonder how many people recognize me/my avatar in my posts! =) I know I recognize some of you =)

some of us may not photgraph well and may feel as though you not knowing is better :)
for those curious of what i look like, i'm a hairy, fluffy black and white female dog with bright blue eyes....a husky to be exact.
