Well don’t! And read this article that popped up on my FB feed this morning
Life Doesn’t Wait For You To ‘Get Thin’. Life Is Happening Right Now.
I NEEDED to read this today.
I’m overweight; 13 stone 8 (190 pounds) and at 5ft 8 that makes my BMI 29. For the past 6 years I’ve had a lot of downs and pretty much been on a constant diet. 2 years ago I met my wonderful FI and while I’ve still battled my weight, the ups have been more plentiful.
We’re getting married in January and we have our engagement shoot at the weekend. And over recent weeks I have been disappointed that I’ve not yet lost the final 14 pounds I wanted to for our engagement shoot.
BUT this article made me remember that one) in the last 6 years I have lost 70 pounds! And two) I am the lightest, healthiest and HAPPIEST I have ever been in my whole adult life. And that is the achievement. So this weekend I am going to rock what I’ve got, and focus on our love, not on my love handles!!!
You are beautiful bees 🙂

Sparkidoodle: Thank you for the article, and CONGRATS on both your engagement and weight loss!
The article absolutely has a ring of truth that I, too, had never thought of. I have never looked at someone’s photos and picked out their flaws. I always look at photos and look at the fashion, the smiles, the background, how happy everyone was or silly, etc.
I have been working hard at losing weight, and while it isn’t happening I stick with it because it makes me feel good and feel confident. My son has his 6 months pictures next week, and I know I will be focusing more on the love and admiration on my face when I look at him versus if you can see a little belly pooch through my sweater. Life is too important to spend it thinking about the imperfections.
