It would be highly unlikely that most stores would have you pay full price for a dress that has been tried on, stretched out, dirtied and used. I don’t have any specific experience in this regard, but I would assume that you could negotiate the sale of a floor sample with most shops. What’s the worst they can say…no? 🙂

Floor samples of anything from wedding/bridesmaid dresses up to washers and dryers usually go for about 30% off of the new item price, although the exact number depends on the store, their markup, and how badly they want to get rid of that item. If you’re looking at sample dresses around the time that the designer is discontinuing that design, then you can get some hefty discounts— the store can’t sell the dress any more so they want to get rid of it and make room for more. If you’re looking right after the design first comes out, they’re not going to be in any hurry to get rid of their sample.
