Don't know what yet, but I intend to.  He is my Valentine after all.  Maybe we will all get some ideas from this thread....

We are really into V Day. This year taking him to comedy show. I feel most in love when we're laughing, plus there are only so many cuff links and bottles of colognes you can get him!

V-Day isn't too big of a deal for us, but last year we started a tradition of making each other gifts! Last year I made him a small scrapbook and he bad me the cutest little clay elephant ever. Still undecided on what I'll be making him this year, though!

This is our fourth Valentine's Day together, and we always just do something really special together like a weekend away. If we do an actual gift on top of that, it's usually chocolates and flowers and things like that. That's just how we are, we both love spending money on experiences more than on possessions!

Usually I homemake some valentines and get him a big box of candy--the good stuff. This year it's the Lindt Mini desserts I think... unless I find kick-ass truffles!

I normally make dinner and a nice dessert to go with. However this year I am leaving it up to FI since he told me he doesnt feel like he has been doing much romantic gestures lately. Plus I am hoping that will inspire him to give me the ring!!!!  :)

Last year we each made eachother Valentines :)

I am planning to do the same thing this  year (I am off to hobby lobby tomorrow to get stuff for him and for the WB valentines swap!) and then maybe cook him something fun, etc...nothin major, but I like the day itself...all the cutesy pinks and reds and sweet candies!

our valentines day plans are actually post valentines day plans.

he volunteered to play drums at a retreat before he knew the dates, so i am aloooone.

however, we are planning on doing something the next week involving a pint of strawberry&banana cheesecake ice cream with skor bits from the marble slab creamery. i really don't need anything besides that wonderous stuff.

We're making cards. And then he's making dinner and I'm making dessert for V-day dinner! and then we'll be spending our day spending time together- possibly going on a hike and then watching a movie on the couch!

Nope. And he's not getting me anything. FI and I have been together just shy of 4yrs and we've NEVER celebrated Valentines day. I felt like it was to commercial and it's a made up holiday. I honestly hate the pressure put on couples to make a big fuss over Feb 14th. Besides our anniversary is 13days later so we celebrate that. Fiance and I giggle now at the pressure others feel, but we're relieved that we don't have to stress over it.

I usually go out and buy myself a new set of lingerie.  It's the perfect gift -- a gift to myself, and a gift to him, both at the same time.  :-)

I love to cook, so I usually make a really nice dinner.  My fiance is a vegetarian, so it can be challenging to come up with dishes.  Last year, I made potato leek vichyssoise, pear and arugula salad, cauliflower au gratin, and for dessert, creme brulee.  We usually get each other cheesy gag gifts as well (heart boxer shorts, anyone)?

This year I'm thinking of making potato gnocchi - yum!

Miss Chocolate    July 24, 2010   Texas... Married in California

I think I'm planning on finding a heart shaped box (candy box) that I can decorate on the outside myself. I plan on buying the little cupcake trays (they also have cupcake liners) they're about the size of big individual chocolates. Get some bright colored pink/purple/red tissue paper and decorate it all cute. You can do different designs on the cupcakes, different kinds of candies, different flavors of cupcakes, etc. It's easy, relatively inexpensive and it's a DIY, so it's that much more special. And once it's done, it looks like a dolled up box of chocolates, but it's really cupcakes!

Get a cute Valentine's Day picture frame and put a pic of the two of you in it... Cute, simple, sweet.

    I hope this helps!

Mmm. Yeah, he's getting two Russel Stover caramel and marshmallow hearts, his favorite. And a homemade card. Since we have totally different schedules and live an hour apart during the week, just having a night to spend together and maybe go to a movie or dinner is special for us.

I will this year.  It's sort of a joke and sort of wedding related.  He loves My Name Is Earl and got me the Jayne Seymour Open Hearts earrings for Christmas b/c that's what Joy wanted in the Lemon Car episode.  So, he's getting the matching cuff links to wear with his tuxedo.

    Probably some baked goods =)

Last year, I got him a photobook I made of all our memories together and he actually teared up (had never seen that before!) and he got me chocolates and a little stuffed puppy plush.

Little did I know, he would propose two weeks later ;)

We usually go out to eat or give each other small gifts or something handmade. Our anniversary is exactly one week after Valentines day and that's much more important to us so we spend our money and energy there! :)

I abolutely love Valentines day. We go crazy celebrating it. In the past Ive gotten him a photo book and he got me a love Valentine Itunes mix he put on my ipod. Valentines day is very special, its the first time we said I love you to eachother while he was playing my Valentine day mix! We used that for our wedding songs and our first dance was in it! You could do any of those cute idea's!

This year I got him a mug made up of me with a sexy photo of me on it saying I love my Hubby! Im in the process of making him a calendar filled with photo's that remind me of us of each month!

I  had a key ring made with a black and white picture of our first kiss after saying our vows.  It just came in yesterday and came out fantastic!  Here's the link:

Somehow I ended up turning Valentine's day into a practical holiday.  On our first Valentines day I decided that I was super grossed out by his dirty lunch pail/mini cooler, so I bought him a new one.  I filled it with hand lotion and other practical things for a guy that works outside.  Last year I did the same thing and added a belt cuz he needed one.

This year I'll probably get him another cooler.  I haven't figured out what I'll fill it with this year, but probably some more practical stuff.

I get flowers every year.  The most beautiful and least practical gift ever.  I'm not sure how he ended up with the short end of the stick, but he seems to appreciate the new lunch box.

We are going to Vegas the weekend before Valentine's because we haven't taken a little break away for awhile.  And I can't go the weekend of Valentine's because Chinese New Year's falls on the SAME day as Valentine's this year and I have to spend time with the family.

So he will enjoy celebrating/watching the SuperBowl in Vegas.  But I am surprising him with a footbal jersey of his favorite team (New Orleans) that is customized with his last name on the back of the jersey!  It's going to be an early Valentine's day gift for him.

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out 2 days before v-day and he hasn't said anything about celebrating early so we're probably skipping this year. He always gets me chocolate and a mani pedi certificate and i always get him something he's been wanting or that's practical like a video game or last year it was some doodad he needed for his longboard.. one year I got him a really cool high tech yoyo he loves to play with it.. haha my fi sounds 10yrs old after all that...

we usually do something nice, like escape campus for a romantic dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in the city and then go out for some drinks and dancing, but this year we are FLAT BROKE.  we're just going to exchange cards with thoughtful letters inside.

    it's kind of depressing. :/
