My husband thinks its weird that I’ve kept so many things from over the years. (maybe its a man thing) I have a little box that I’ve had since I was in the 6th grade and inside you will find cute notes from great friends, pictures, cards, a stash of letters from my best friend that she sent me during her exchange stay in Estonia, prom tickets, rocks from my childhood home, dried flower petals, and just recently I de-petaled my wedding bouquet and placed that in there. Theres tons of stuff from over the years. Ok so I’m pretty sentimental but, I love going in there every now and then and reminiscing.
Do you have a box too? Whats inside? Would your SO be surprised at some things he would find in there?

My husband got me a memory box made as my wedding present. I love it. All that I have in it so far is a letter from him on our wedding day (brings tears to my eyes every time I read it) and I am going to put our first ultrasound picture in it tonight when he gets home. He said that we are to write each other a love letter each year on our anniversary to give to each other and each letter should contain:
Our favorite memories of the year, our promises to each other, why we are so special to each other and what we plan on for the year to come.
I have another unofficial memory box that I have put all of our cards in and things from our trips we have gone on together. I am not even sure he knows about it even though it is in our closet.

I have a memory box too! I take it out once or twice a year and go through all the memories from years gone by. My box dates back to junior high. I have notes from friends, grad tickets, much the same as you MissFlipFlops! It’s fun to have physical objects to remember that time. I would love to show it to my daughter someday. My Mom showed me a love note she wrote to a boy she had a crush on when she was in high school – it was so cute!!

Several — I haven’t found one big enough, though I would like to.
Correspondence is a HUGE part of my life, so I have tons and tons of letters from my really close friends (during college/university), my sister, even from my partner. I also have way too many photos for albums, and many of them are kept in these boxes.
There are some trinkets & keepsakes too.
I usually go through them once or twice a year in an attempt to consolidate everything in one place, but it is tough to find a good solid box that is large enough to sort everything in.

I don’t have one, but I actually made one for FI years back when we’d started dating. It’s spray-painted black with silver pen writings of love poems and our favorite lyrics on it, with some photos of us on the inside of the lid. One day a while back he showed me all he’d kept in it, love letters from years ago, garters from prom (wow that was a long time back!) photos of us and ticket stubs from events we went to. I sort of want to start one now, but I like the idea that iHeartTwinkies and her husband have. Maybe I’ll start us some new boxes on our wedding 🙂

I have two, and they are hat boxes i’ve picked up. My whole family does this, even my little nieces have tickests from the aquarium and things in it. I have birthday cards from people who have passed, pictures. My mom started mine when she kept all the cards from my birth and baptism, so i have a ton of stuff. When my mom & great aunt passed away I had the honor of going thru theirs. It was neat giving my older brothers their letters to my mom and aunt from summer camp, and my letters to them from college. Of course I didn’t go thru her love letters from my dad, but it was a really nice to have the chance to see it.

I have 2 boxes so far with tons of stuff – pictures, old mix CDs, ticket stubs from concerts or movies, programs from plays, postcards, etc, etc. I will probably be needing a new one soon!
This is definitely way more of a girl thing btw! 🙂

I totally missed your comment last night while I was reading — writing letters every years on your anniversary sounds like such a sweet (and awesome) idea 🙂
