Hey bees just curious do you give a “Code” to your kids when your not the one picking them up after school or from any activities outside the home. We do and honestly its one of the best ideas to keep your kids from danger!
Heres a link why.

We had a secret code when we were little and in school. I will have one for my Dirty Delete as well.

We had one when I was little. We each had “secret names” that the person had to know before we went with them. One time my parents really sent out neighbors to pick us up. They expected us to just go with them because we recognized them and everything. They didn’t know the secret word so we refused to go with them until our parents showed up hours later. Lol. But it worked!

I’m not a parent, but I find it a little odd. When I was a kid I knew who the trustworthy people were that my parents might have sent. They were the people who would babysit us, or had a spare key to our house.
I could see it being useful for some situations though, and was happy to come across this story!

We do not. But the only people who can pick up my child from school or daycare are on an approved list and everyone has to be buzzed into the buildings. As in, even if I wanted to, I could not have someone pick up my kids for a day that was not on that list until I went in and ammended the paperwork. Even to this day, the daycare makes my mother show her driver’s license when she goes to pick up my daughter, and she has been going there 5 years! I suppose this is a good idea if your kids were unattended or walked home by themselves perhaps?

I am not a parent, but thank you for sharing! That is something I will likely do when I have children.

I always wanted one when I was little, but no one but my mom ever ever picked us up, so they wouldn’t make one up. I thought it was awesome, though.
I will probably have one with DS since I’m paranoid, but in all likelihood, he will never have to be picked up by anyone but me, dad, or grandma. It’s worth it, though 🙂
