Darling Husband and I have been together 10+ years, married for 2.5. We have been saying “I love you” since month 8 of our relationship. 10 years later, I decided that I “more” than love him, and I wish I had a word to express how I feel, becuase I think that “love” has been so watered down and thrown around lately that it doesn’t mean as much anymore.
Do you girls have a word or gesture that you share with your SO that means “more than love?”

We used to just say “I love you” to each other and then it was how much do you love me? Then it was “l love you more” and then it was “how much/more”… eventually we ended up saying “I love you more than all the stars in the sky”
Now we sign love letters /texts/ birthday cards with “more than the stars in the sky”
Granted it’s not proper English etc, but it’s our “thing” and our way of saying I love you I’m going to incorporate it into our wedding I just haven’t worked out how.

@Soon2BeeMrsG: Aww that’s sweet.
My Darling Husband and I don’t really have a word, although I tell him “I love you more than a fat kid loves cake… and I’m a fat kid who loves cake so that says a lot”.

Not yet. I’ve been trying to come up with something to express that recently. :-
We have tons and tons and tons of goofy phrases that just express love, though!

It’s more of a phrase… One day I said I love you more than L-O-V-E, to which he replied…I love you more than E-V-O-L! So now it’s a joke, “I love you more than love” & “I love you more than evol (which sounds like evil)” I think it’s cute. 🙂

Well, sort of. My iPhone just refuses to accept the word love when I am texting him (and ONLY him-in another context it is ok with spelling it correctly) my phone changes it to “I lobe you”. So, now that’s what we say.
