Do you have air conditioning where you live? If you don’t have it, do you want it?
We don’t have AC in our house.. we live right on a stream which makes it very cool here. Having the windows open, the air coming off the water really cools the house down! If we are having a hot day (90+), I simply close the windows in the morning, and reopen them in the evening and our house stays in the 70’s. Most people think we’re crazy for not having AC though! I grew up in a house with no AC until I was a teenager when we had central AC put in. The house I live in now is actually just as cool as my parents house, with central AC.

Yep we do. I could not live without it anymore I grew up in a house without AC and I just remember it being miserable all the time. Too hot to sleep, ugh. I hate being warm ever.

We are in the South so AC is a must, it broke last week and it was so hot that the wood floor boards were hot.
In CO, we didn’t have AC. We only needed it one or two weeks out of the year and we mostly just kept the windows open.

Well, I’m in Florida, so if I didn’t need it for the heat, I at least need it for the humidity. Same thing for when I lived up in Virginia, which gets pretty humid and hot in the summers.

I live in the South as well, and I can’t imagine not having it. I hate being hot, and, honestly, I wish I could just hibernate through summer until it’s a bearable temperature again. If we didn’t have AC, I’m pretty sure I’d go insane. However, I would love to live somewhere that AC wouldn’t be needed.

Yep, we have central air. I’ve always had AC whether it was central or window units in each room. There’s no way I’d survive without it.

Yeah, can’t imagine living in Texas without AC. It went out in my car one summer and it was the WORST…that was the summer I baked cookies on the dashboard just to see if I could. Good times.

My hubby is an electrician and he installed a heat pump system in the winter. It has both heat and AC.
I LOVE IT.
Especially now that we have our little one. So much easier than lighting a fire in the morning, and keeps her nice and cool when it gets so darn humid here!

We have an AC but very rarely use it. We live in West Los Angeles and it doesn’t get too hot here most of the time. Most days in the summer it’s in the 70s or low 80s.

I have A/C and I cannot live without it!

We have AC and I can’t imagine otherwise. We’re house hunting and the area we like has homes from the 20s/30s. Every house we look as Darling Husband tacks on 20k to the price since an AC intall is non-negotiable for him.

Nope, no need for it really in the good old UK haha

We have central air and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I grew up without it and one of my favorite things about summer is having open windows and fresh air blowing through the house. But those days like last week where the heat index was well over 100 every day? Greatest thing ever.

I have central air although I’m a weirdo who likes fresh air. So I open my windows and the sliding door on my balcony and put in window fans for a fresh breeze.

Have to, in the south.
The only time I didn’t was back in college, when I lived in a rathole apartment with baseboard heat and no AC. But it was in the mountains, and there was maybe one day each summer when just opening the windows and turning on a fan wasn’t really enough to keep it comfortable.
The heat index yesterday, where I live in VA, was 112 degrees. People who don’t have AC, or whose power is still out from the storms last week, are having to go spend their days in stores or the public library just to survive.
