I think ours will just be on a platter from the cake person.  They asked if we wanted anything specific, but that is a detail i didn’t care about.

I will have one but only because the kind of cake I’m having will need it (it’s smoushier than regular wedding cakes) so I’m getting the “Wilton Graceful Tiers” so I can tiers without it falling down, but you don’t need one for a traditional wedding cake IMO. They usually come on pretty foiled boards (double check with your baker the kind of board used).

Our baker just provided a basic cake stand. I didn’t pay any attention to that detail really, haha.

No, because I would have had to have bought it myself.

We didn’t have a cake stand… It wasn’t something that was important to me, I don’t even like cake… lol  Which is a good thing because our cake started melting in the sun and ended up looking awful. lol

It really will look better on some form of cake stand. It also will keep the icing from smearing al over the tablecloth when you cut it.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate or epensive.

You can use a slab of wood,

    a butcher block cutting board,

a sheet of acrylic on top of vases

My baker said it was really a waste “to be honest”

We’re using one, but you don’t really have to. Just make sure the baker is using a cake board that is pretty enough to display.

It’s not a requirement and most people actually don’t have fancy stands other than the cardboard base that comes standard with the cake that no one even sees.
