I think it would look great. I’m also not a big fan of tiaras and over the top headpieces; they’re just not for me. You will need a veil slide, like a comb, to anchor the veil obviously, but it should stay in very well with the horizontal braid (otherwise, it will probably slip down, and you would need to keep readjusting). I’m using a white gold plated comb I found on Etsy with my veil for a little something extra, but most veils come with hidden combs if that’s not something you like.

What a beautiful hairstyle!

Re. the veil, you can do whatever you want. It can have just a comb, which will slide into your hair and be invisible. You can also attach it using only a couple of bobby pins (a good way to attach drop veils and mantillas). It can also be attached to a relatively simple headband or barrette – and it can get more elaborate from their. Veils are really versatile – you can do pretty much whatever you like.

I think you should stick to just a veil, it would look a little too busy with a veil PLUS a headpiece PLUS a detailed updo like that!
