I would love to get ours up here right away, but we have been SO busy!  Plus, us Canadians don't get the long weekend like our American friends do!  Hopefully, we can get our tree up in another week or two!  I am definitely listening to Christmas music right now!

I usually try and put most of the tree up on Black Friday, and hide from all the insanity outside.

Other - we don't have a tree.  We're Jewish, and also very, very lazy when it comes to home decorating.

Nope. We always do it Dec. 1st. So we get 25 days of christmas. It just feels most appropriate to me. Although, there is lots of snow right now, so it is suitable. I just don't want to get "sick" of christmas before it arrives!

Nope - I refuse to put up X-mas decoration until after Thanksgiving!  But come this weekend, all is fair game!

We are getting a real tree this year, so we are waiting until December to go chop it down. But when we put up our fake tree its almost always up the first week of november!!! its too pretty to only have up for a month

Ours has been up for about a week. I have been buying ornaments for the last two years so I was very excited to finally see our first tree all put together. We are spending a lot of time away from home between Thanksgiving and Christmas so I thought that we might need a little more time to enjoy it :)

I always spend the night after Thanksgiving decorating.  My FI doesn't get as into it as I do, but he puts up with the loud Christmas music and boxes of stuff everywhere for a few hours.  :)

I also work in a floral shop that sells gifts and we start decorating the day after Halloween.  I'm ok with waiting a while to put everything together in my house, I'm surrounded by Christmas items Mon-Sat!

For the ladies who already have your trees up, are yours real or fake?

We always get a real tree, and they become brittle and lose their scent if they are put up too early, so we normally wait until the second week in December to get our tree. (I think they may also be more prone to catching on fire if they are set up too soon.)

We do put the Christmas lights on our house (and my parents' house) Thanksgiving weekend.

@JenniMichele: Our tree is fake this year.  We had a real tree the past couple of years (that we purchased after Thanksgiving) and we had terrible luck with getting them to stay healthy.  I think you're right, it's probably best to get a real one later in the month.  The dead needles drive me nuts!

My family tradition is to put up Christmas decorations starting the day after Thanksgiving...however...

FI and I just moved, and all the boxes were already out...and we said, why not? Our trees are fake so no worries about them falling apart!

Great looking tree! Considering we've already had our "thanks for turkey day" in Canada, our tree won't be up for it. I'm hoping that we'll be putting ours up this weekend though, and I've always had a fake tree.

    Pretty tree :) :)

My husband and I are in the processing of buying our first house/moving so no tree this year :( It's sad! But our in-laws and my parents will have a tree so we get to enjoy those! Next year? It'll be up by mid November! I'm VERY "clark griswold" about Christmas...I even watched that movie last night :P

Yep! But I think it's because I just bought this house so I'm excited. ALL my inside decorations are up...working on the outside.

Ours is up... but I'm in Canada (Thanksgiving for us is in October), it's a fake tree, and we're having a baby sometime in the next couple of weeks, so we won't have time to put it up once he's around.  We had to put it up early.

Hah!  Love the Griswold answer.  That's us.  I refuse to put anything up before Thanksgiving even if I start getting the itch.  Porch lights will go up first anyways since I think we'll be going and cutting a juniper for our tree.  I don't expect it would last long enough for us to do it more than a few weeks out.

Ours is up, but it's like 2 feet tall, so it's not too difficult to put up.  :)

I'd bet that if we were at home this week, the temptation I've been feeling all month would have become overwhelming and I'd have managed to convince my husband to let me put up the tree. But we're across the country with family and won't be back until Saturday, so it will have to wait until then! I'm sure we'll help put up my husband's family's tree on Friday. I did scratch the itch just a bit by purchasing some adorable Christmas decorations on Etsy which should be waiting for us when we get back!
