I just took my sheets out of the dryer the MINUTE they were done, but they are still horribly wrinkled! But I feel it is such a waste of time to iron sheets...I mean, you just sleep on them, right?

Do you iron your sheets before folding/putting away or putting them on your bed?

@Valhalla:  I wouldn't even think to worry about this.  They smooth out a lot once they are on the bed anyway.  Besides, who sees them?

Nope, they usually smooth out once they're on the bed.  Even if they didn't, I wouldn't go through the trouble of ironing them.  Tongue out

haha No way. Considering I hate cleaning and doing laundry, I don't think I've ever even considered for a second ironing my sheets. But, I hear of quite a few people who do! Not for me. :)

I  make sure I take them out of the dryer just before they are completely dry. If I'm using that set again, instead of changing colors etc, I put them on the bed immediately and the wrinkles either stretch or relax out of the fabric.

After I have finished making the bed, I do steam the 12 inches or so of the upper flat sheet that is folded back over the duvet.

I can hardly muster up the effort to iron my shirts for work. I have never ironed my sheets.

I thought about it once, because we had just moved and the sheets were new and I wanted everything in the apartment to be perfect *just once*... and then I thought about what a pain the butt it would be and how no one would care about it but me (and my husband would think I was nuts) and skipped it. :)

Nope - and I'd never consider it.  They're going to get wrinkled again the first time I lay down.

@june42011: Wrinkle release is the best thing ever. They stopped selling it in Canada and I had a break down. Thank god it's only an hour drive to Buffalo :)

@Wannabe-diy-bride: I'm with you on that one ;)

I'm lucky if I actually make my bed (horrible... I know, we're working on it) but I used to live with a woman who sold fine linens and had her house-lady iron the sheets, they looked great and didn't bunch, that was nice!

Nope.  I am probably going to offend somebody with this, but if I ever got the urge to iron my sheets (or my underpants - same principle), I would march myself out the door and volunteer in my community, because there are WAY more important things in life.

I hardly ever iron my clothes, I'm certainly not going to iron our sheets. FI's grandmother does and I think she's nuts (for many other reasons besides just this).

I have not touched an iron in about 10 years and I have absolutely NO intention of doing so. I am skilled in the art of prompt removal from the dryer to prevent wrinkles!

The only thing I'm ever tempted to iron is baby clothes where the pocket is sticking up or something, otherwise I'm on a strict no ironing diet!

Hahaha this thread is great! I actually have a couple of friends who DO iron their sheets, and I thought they were completely out to lunch :)

If I could have an ironing lady like eloping, I would have her be ALL over it though, lol!

No, they smooth out once you put them on the bed.. unless they are some weird heavy material. And they also smooth out when you fold them the right way.

No, I don't iron. I just force them to lie at flatly on the bed as possible and figure they're covered up by my comforter anyway. :)

Hahaha, oh GOD!!!  Surely I'm not the only one?!?

I have one pair of sheets that I really love, but the "cuff" part at the top gets weird every time I wash them, so I iron that part.  BUT JUST THAT PART, I SWEAR!!!!  Embarassed

Nope, I have this new set that REALLY wrinkles. Don'tk now what kind of cotton it is, but it was expensive. Anyway, my mom suggested I iron them and I just laughed. No way I'm ironing a sheet, not even the guest room sheet, but mine!LOL

Why do extra work when you don't need to!? They'll relax on the bed and unwrinkle a bit.

I don't, I wish I had someone to do it for me!  If I bought a fancy set and people were coming over, I may steam the top of sheet that is shown... that's about it.  I don't iron at all... in fact if I buy a new outfit my first thought is how it's going to wash because I will not iron! Wash and wear baby!
