Sort of.. not to say that I want socks, that would be horrible… but a new purse or something that i’ve been eyeing would be very practical, but awesome for me.

I much prefer getting gift cards to my favorite store vs. “junk”.

I actually love practical gifts.  I asked my parents for a carpet steamer one year while I was in college.  And I practically begged SO for this particular blender I wanted last year.  This year I also had a few practical things on my Christmas list. I asked for a new handbag, some new combat boots, and this awesome peacoat I saw at the mall a few weeks ago.

I guess I just really like to get things I know I’m going to use.

I strongly prefer practical gifts!! I would rather pick out something like jewelry, shoes, or clothing on my own, honestly–if someone’s getting me a gift, I’d rather have a nice piece of luggage, or a kitchen appliance, or even new sheets, lol.

I like practical gifts when it’s something I want! For example, I’d be delighted to get the Dyson I want.

I love practical gifts!! SO and I did Christmas with my family last night and gave eachother a few of our gifts… he got me a brand new set of REALLY nice silverwear (we have mixed shit from our dorm days) and a cooling rack for cookies and cakes! I love to bake and cook so these are perfect gifts for me. I couldn’t love anything more.

Depends on the practical gift. If it’s a vacuum, no. If it’s a new Kitchen aid mixer, I’d be thrilled. Dh almost got me a vacuum last year, a Dyson, until my dad told him the story about the year he gave my mom a vacuum. It wasn’t pretty.

I like to say “I like gifts I can use” because the only gifts I don’t like are ones that I have no clue what to do with but sit somewhere

@atreyu547:  I like practical gifts if it’s practical for me lol! Here’s to hoping you get both practical and impractical gifts (:

@tksjewelry:  +1!  A friend of mine got a vacuum last year for Christmas… meanwhile her DH got a big screen for his mancave and a nice watch. WTH!  I don’t think so!  FI tends to get me practical presents- a backpack for grad school that wouldn’t hurt my shoulders, a fancy water dispenser for Valentine’s Day (I pretty much only drink water, so everyone who knew me well thought it was a really sweet and thoughtful gift), silk sheets for christmas, Sheex for my birthday because it turns out silk sheets make me cold in the winter, and a medal rack for my running medals another Valentine’s day.  I love to bake, so a kitchenaide would be a dream!  But something along the lines of a vacuum or a new stove?! No thanks!

The other night, I was out with FI and his friend and he told me he got me a gift, it turned out to be a serving dish, I was pumped because I’ve wanted this particular item, and his other gift to me was a pressure cooker/slow cooker combo. I freaking LOVE them! His friend bought is mom a Dyson vacuum and I nearly lost my mind, I would be in heaven if FI bought me one!!! LOL I have always loved household gifts. Anything for my kitchen and I’m a happy girl!!!
