@roweboat:  I love my job, my career, my colleagues, and my boss. The only thing I would change is having a slightly smaller workload because there are not enough hours in the week!

My boss is very easy going. Heis understanding about being sick. He is always calm. Very nice. Empathetic (worries if you have something going on). He is very hands off so I can get things done without someone constantly looking over my shoulder. Don’t have problems getting the time off I need to go to the doctors or getting an extra day off to attend different things that are happening or get off early (I do work extra hours). It is pretty awesome.

    Nope, she’s insane.

Did taxes wrong, has screwed up paychecks (there are 4 employees), makes me feel guilty for taking time off, even if I make it up….

    List goes on and on.

My boss who just left was awesome. He was basically the same age as everyone on our team, so he was pretty fun. The guy our group got shifted to after that is nice enough, and seems like he could be fun, but we rarely see/talk to him so it’s kind of weird because we were used to chatting with our old boss like a buddy.

“Best boss” is going a little far but I really do like my bosses. I am both the newest and youngest addition to the team so there is a bit of a disconnect but I know I can learn a lot from all of them and I am never afraid to ask for advice.

My new boss is pretty cool. My previous boss I had no respect for as she was incompetent so it was hard for me to like her. My first boss I had in my first “big girl” job out of grad school was ok. He was a hard ass sometimes but he didn’t bother me too much until he illegally fired me because I had been out on disability for “too long.”

My best boss ever was names Maureen. I was working in Early Childhood Education, and firmly believed that the most important part of any childcare center be that it cater to the children, and that it allows them to have fun, explore, and fully experience each stage of their development.

She was replaced by my worst boss ever, Karen. She was actually worse than the boss who used to “accidentally” grab my butt. She believed that the center’s only objective was to make money. She locked the snack foods in the back, and told us to cut off the kids after 2 grahm crackers or 1 bowl of cereal, even if the kids were CRYING because they were hungary! Which, by the way, is illegal.

She implimented her own summer program that got rid of all the “summer visitors” (petting zoos, traveling aquarium, puppet show, children’s nutritionist), and made a “garden” (that the children stomped on, and she YELLED at them!)

Her pay practices were also awful. People regularly found that their paid hours were 3 or 5 hours LESS than what they worked! And if you argued with her, you got shorted for hours the next week!

She was the single most miserable human I have ever met. I am SO happy I got KU and got out of that Hell hole!

I used to love my boss, thought he was the best boss I ever had.

But things have changed over time and I’ve really lost a ton of respect for him.  Some days I still think he’s pretty good…but some days I just hate him.

I *love* my boss – unfortunately she only works part-time. It’s my co-worker who is there EVERY DAY with me that drives me completely batshit crazy.

I can’t stand my boss. She’s horrible. I’m currently on summer break looking for a new school (I’m a teacher.) I don’t think I’ll go back in the fall if I don’t find a new one.

I can’t vote…I think my bosses are fine. Nice enough…not “omg soooo great!” but good. More than “okay” though. My last boss was “dislike but not enough to leave” though.

@roweboat:  No. He’s a pretentious know it all who tells me one thing, which I act on, then changes his mind and tries to blame me when it all goes to hell (obviously I don’t let this happen). I hope that my staff would answer that they like me though because I protect them from him :-
