It’s been over 3 years since my wedding and I am now completely obsessed with weddings. What is interesting, is prior to my engagement, I wasn’t into weddings at all (never looked at pics, never planned, etc.) Yet now I find myself wishing it was my wedding again and again. 🙂
One of my best girlfriends just got engaged and I am helping her through the planning process. This will be the second friend that I am helping after my own wedding, and every time I help or go to a wedding, I keep wishing it was my wedding all over again. I don’t miss the planning, expenses, and stress – but I just LOVED the feeling of having all my family and friends at one big party celebrating my husband and I. I also tend to get overly happy at other peoples weddings, for some reason my excitement is super high and I just love the feeling and moods of weddings; but my excitement was never this high at weddings I attended prior to my own wedding.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

@AnnieAAA: Girl, I totally feel the SAME way! My husband thinks I’m so ridiculous – but in reality, he’s like that too. 🙂 We both love going to weddings, and just love what happy day it is for everyone!

Me too! I kind of really hated weddings prior to my own to be honest. Now whenever someone I know is getting married I’m like “do you need any help?” It was a fun process and I definitely have more of an appreciation for the work that goes into making one perfect!

I was pretty neutral to weddings until Darling Husband and I started talking about getting engaged. Then I couldn’t get enough and I still LOVE weddings but it is definitely with a different attitude. Before my wedding, I felt like part of me was always cataloging things. Ooh, I like these favors; Hmm, taking that shuttle was annoying; I wonder who did the catering; etc. I was really into the details and probably had a better appreciation for them/ a more critical eye.
Now, I’m just like… wedding!! Woooo!!! Hahaha, I love going and just having fun and celebrating the couple without worrying about how it compares to what I would have done. There are occasional twinges of, “how soon can I do a vow renewal?” but other than that, I’m totally over the planning bit and very into the celebrating part.

@asianyoushi: Thats all me!!! I get sad, and makes my self-esteem low, I’m usually photogenic on regular pictures, but the day of my wedding with so much stress I feel “BLAH” “MEH” AND i dont think the pictures project the love my husband and I have for each other! Due to so many people and events stressing us out. Its been over a year and I cant over come the feeling…. =(

I would rather be a guest at somebody else’s wedding. I am excited to be getting married but not excited about the wedding process for myself.

I love that I’m not the one going through the stress of the wedding planning and I just get to go and enjoy it.
