We've been living together for about a year. When I lived alone, my bed was so easy to make in the morning, all i had to do was fold the little piece of the comforter back into the little place where i was sleeping. done! But noooowwww....my fiance completely rumples up the entire bed every night. He MUST have the a/c on freezing, then he bundles the comforter (including my piece) all around his neck, which then becomes sweaty and gross. And he somehow always manages to make his side of the fitted sheet come undone, and kick the flat sheet down to the bottom of the bed, lost under the covers. I just can't be botherd to make the bed in the morning now....It must be because when he lived at his parents, he had a king size bed in his room like since he was a child!! Now he can't adapt to a queen.......I think we need a bigger bed!
Anybody else have bad-sleeper fiances/husbands?
Sounds like your describing my bf! haha. And I still make the bed. Not always in the morning, but I have to make it when I get home because I won't be able to get any homework done with it unmade-it just bothers me so much!
I'm like you, when I lived by myself it was easier, I just had to make up one small area. Now I live with the FI..so.. it's a different story. He goes to work later than me everyday, and is always in the bed when I leave. lol

My SO makes his bed, he likes it to look neat. me, on the other hand, like leave it a mess. The only time I make my bed is when I'm visiting my father, he has a very clean and proper house so i feel obligated to leave it nice.
Yes, but I have a solution for a blanket theif- my dog sleeps at my feet, so he acts as a counter weight and helps me keep my blankets. I really missed my dog for that reason when we were staying at the FIL's house recently.
And yes, I have to straighten out the bed before getting back in the next night cause it is a disaster zone after he vacates the bed.
I totally don't make the bed. And I'm the one who wrecks it! Soooooo yeah.
3 factors to my unmade bed
1. FI still sleeping when I leave at 6am
2. I'm going back in it, so it doesn't matter
3. Yeah...I just don't really feel like it.
lol @lemondrop my dachshund sleeps on the bed too! but she HAS to be UNDER the cover so she doesn't really help with the counter-weight thing! she starts out at the foot and by morning she's usually in the middle peaking her head out the top adding to the jumble!!
OMG, I completely understand! If I sleep in the bed by myself I can simply fold up the comforter on the side I was sleeping on, with FI that is impossible! The sheets and comforter are all over the bed and he is always pulling the sheets (fitted and flat) from under the mattress. I usually get out of the bed first so the bed is usually unmade because Fi does not make the bed
My house is small, so if I don't make my bed, it makes me feel like my whole house is messy. (Very similar to living in a dorm room - I never made my bed until college). No bedroom door to 'shut out' the mess!
On the weekends, yes. During the week, da' hubs is still sleeping in it when I leave, so I make it when I get home, or at least before I go to bed. I can't go to bed in an unmade bed. Just can't.
My alarm goes off at 4:30 am, my FI doesn't get up until 7 am, so I have the perfect excuse to not make the bed. He cannot leave the house with an unmade bed. It's the perfect situation.
Sounds like my SO! We don't live together, but when he stays over, it's like a bomb went off! I can sleep in my bed alone and fold it back. But with him, the comforter ends up on the bed and the flat sheet is at the bottom of the bed! I have to do SO much to make it back up.
I thought it was just him being a slob with the bed!
We are both terrible about making the bed and we have a double bed. It is terrible. All I want in the world is a King bed but that would necessitate an apartment large enough to put a King in. Sigh.
I would never have a made bed if it were up to me. My fiance actually cares about this though, and likes to sleep in a neatly made bed, so he makes it every night before bed.
We don't sleep with a top sheet, so all I have to do is fluff and straighten the duvet. :p I hate getting into a messy bed.

He makes the bed all pretty everyday for us but I could care less but it is something that really bugs him about me LOL!
I never did...but now my husband does. For some reason it bugs him. Maybe because he's not the one getting up at 530....seriously i never made my bed when it was just me. i like it made, but man, those 3 minutes....i got things to do =]
I'd say 90% of the time I make the bed. I like it to look neat and my husband steals the covers so every morning I try to make the bed so that I start out with a little bit more covers than him to even out the playing field!
I HAVE to make the bed, or I will think about it all day. Seriously. If I leave first, hubby doesn't do it and I fix it when I get home. It's actually quite funny because he is neat and clean in general.
I have to make the bed every morning. FI will sometimes make the bed- he said it's whether or not he feels like it that day.
hahahaa... I'm a crazy sleeper, and J isn't. He also makes his bed, and I NEVER make mine (my maid doesn't either...). I told him if I get up after him once we live together, it's not my fault if the bed doesn't get made. :)
i make my bed. i sleep alone so it's super simple but i also do a lot of my work from my bed so having it made is a necessity
ugh...without fail, the flatsheet has always been kicked to the floor by FI in the middle of the night AND the comforter has done a 180 (i'm not joking...i have no idea how this happens so consistently). he is a ridiculous sleeper. i have no idea how i manage to get rest next to him. when i sleep alone, i wake up in a perfectly made bed. i must not move AT ALL, all night, so he sleeps really different from me. worse is that when i go to make the bed in the morning (i just have to, i need a neat-looking room), the flat sheet is all wrinkly from being in a pile on the floor. :(
I work third shift and my guy works either 1st or 2nd so our bed only gets made on the weekends because 80% of the time during the week one or the other of us is in the bed!
(Oh, and the kiddos have to make their beds every morning. lol)
I make the bed every morning. I actually never made the bed when I lived alone, but now that we're married and live together, I feel like this is my "home" and I should make it look nice as often as I can. Plus, it always feels nice to jump into a perfectly made bed every night!
80% of the time i make my bed.. one or two mornings, if i'm running late, i don't. i always do on the weekend:)
Neither of us are particularly messy sleepers, but we have a rule that whoever is out of the bed last makes it. Now he's got a job though where he ends up leaving about an hour before I do. Darn it!
FI makes the bed. It's a really big pain to make because we live in a small Manhattan apartment so there are walls on 2.5 sides of the bed.
I would also like a bigger bed because we sleep in a FULL with the two of us and both the cats. However, our current apartment (or any apartment we've lived in on this island) will not fit a queen.
haha this is funny...FI always makes his bed, me on the other hand, usually leave it the way it is, and come back to the way it was...
I just don't have time to on workdays. Weekends I make it though..
I love a neat looking bedroom. I can't stand blankets and pillows hodge podge all over the place.
I sleep like the dead. All it takes for my bed to look like it's made is to pull the blanket back over my pillow. I just don't see the point in making it every day, and I'm a pretty obsessive-compulsive person!
We just have a duvet, no top sheet. And in the winter we have a quilt over the duvet so it's really easy to make the bed. We have a deal in the house, I make the bed and he makes breakfast :)
My FH likes the bed to be made, so I make it every day because I can do it neater than he can. Last time he made the bed, he put the duvet on wrong and the buttons were at the top of the bed by the pillows!
I'm a neat freak but for some reason I will not make my bed. I like to get back into that comfy little spot I got out of in the morning.
@otb that sounds just like my fiance! so clueless about such things like which side goes at the bottom...he has also been known to put it sideways too!! lol can't he see the pattern of the stitching running up and down in lines??
OMG! Yes! My FI is the same way!!!! It drives me crazy becuase then when i go to get into bed all the covers are sideways and stuff and I have to dig around to try and straighten them!
