Weddingbee boards
I'm with the response, "they don't change much so I forget." I get in the habit of glancing at the ever-changing list of member board posts. More variety!

I usually check them first when I get to the boards to see what's new! I think it helps when they're at the top, although I wouldn't argue that they could be changed more often.
They're usually used for contests or special/interesting threads, so I hope people are looking at them at least once!
I usually only see them when I first get on, because they only pop up when I hit "boards." When I'm in a particular thread I hit "all" to get back to the main screen, and they don't show up then. And yeah, they don't change enough, so I rarely notice them. But still, I'd notice more if they popped up when I hit all.
As far as I can tell, someone correct me if I am wrong, a sticky is a thread at the top of the boards with a yellow background that is permanantly at the top of the board - it is usually a thread started by Mrs. Bee/Mr. Bee/Mrs. Penguin in relation to a contest or an important topic. If you look at them now, one of them is "Board Etiquette". I was surprised that there wasn't more response to this thread, so began wondering if others don't really notice these stickys!
Yah there's a bug with the stickies feature where it only appears on the frontpage:

We haven't prioritized that fix yet, because we've never received a complaint about it... if it bugs anyone, let us know!
Thanks for the heads up on stickies not showing up on views. We can change the "all" link so that it links to boards.weddingbee.com and stickies show up... I'll do that now.

Mr. Bee - Just wanted to clarify, it doesn't bother me at all, I just am not sure how effective the current formatting/placement is for your needs! (assuming things are "sticky" because they contain important info!)

Ah hmm, I actually don't know how to change the "all" link to point to boards.weddingbee.com without losing the ability for "all" to light up when you click on it. I'll put this on our list of todos and see if anyone on our team can figure it out!
Oh it's all good on the stickies... I do think they somewhat help a post get comments. But not every post will necessarily get a lot of comments - just like a normal post, only the best ones will get a lot of comments!
I guess we sticky posts that most affect the boards community... or contests that might interest the community at large. I guess if stickies don't do the trick, we could make the stickies larger! But for now, they seem to work well enough for our needs. :-)

Just out of curiosity - I pretty much never look at them, as they don't change often and I was never quite sure what they were all about. Mrs. Bee started one on Board Etiquette and the relatively limited response makes me wonder if a lot of people just don't see these...
