I am playing “Baby Einstein: Lullaby Classics” to my Munchkin right now. I think that she will love music too, because she is going crazy in there. I am getting a kick (literally) out of this. I have been playing music, and watching kid shows, for a while now. Today is the first time that I put the earbuds directly to my belly, though.
Do you play music to your belly? If so, how does the baby react? When did you start playing it?

🙂 That is awesome! I fully plan to! 🙂 I play guitar and sing, so I plan to do lots for baby.

I just put one earbud up to my belly and he gave me a good kick. He either really loves or really hates Taylor Swifts new album lol! i have some lullabies i’ve been wanting to play as well.

I didn’t but I did talk to my belly all the time so did Darling Husband. That and rubbing the belly… He kicked all the time no matter what.

I don’t play music to my belly, but I do sing in the shower. My baby’s first words will probably be “Mom, shut up, you absolutely do NOT sound anything like Kelly Clarkson!”

@cbee: I want to learn the guitar. I play violin.
@totheislnds: lol..I read that if you play lullabies/classical now…it can help to relax them when they get here.
@Sassygrn: I talk to her and rub the belly too.

I don’t yet, but upon hearing that if we sing to the baby he will be able to recognize the song after he’s born, my husband promptly starting singing “Purple Rain” to my belly. Super appropriate song to sing to a baby, no? LOL

I didn’t play music but I used to sing all the time, especially one song. Now when I sing that song, she gives me the biggest smiles.

@Candy_Nee: LOL..what a song choice
@mandb122: awwww…how sweet. I have sung “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children” a few times.

Yup. I really believe this is a great idea! When my baby gets big enough, I can’t wait to share things they can hear with their little ears and minds! 🙂

I do, twice a day. Once in the morning before work and once in the evening, usually after dinner. It’s really my husband’s thing…he got me this Ritmo sound system that wraps around my belly http://www.amazon.com/Nuvo-Ritmo-Pregnancy-Sound-System/dp/B002XFE894/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1351014501&sr=1-1&keywords=Nuvo+Ritmo+Pregnancy+Sound+System. We have it hooked up to an mp3 player with a classical music play list. The baby really seems to respond and is always active when I have the band on. I’m not trying to make my baby a genius or anything, but we think he likes it. My husband says the baby probably gets bored in there and could use some entertainment! Lol.

My Darling Husband bought one of the belly sound systems too, he started with the intent to do the thing where you put a few songs on and they’ll recognize them, but then he got started with the playlist and it got HUGE, lol. So, we’re just playing it because he seems to like it when I wear the band, especially if a Bollywood song comes on 🙂
