@PoppyH:  I love posting my ring! I’m a little more cautious about the stats sometimes and i have never actually posted the cost (at my FH’s request) we both feel it’s no ones business.

I did post it on FB when I got engaged because people were asking, I love seeing other people’s rings, and I wanted to BUT I only posted a single picture there.  My ring is all over the bee and here’s another one 🙂

(okay 2 – but I love the profile of my ring, it’s one of my favourite things about it)

@MrsSmith13: great thing about the bee, once it’s uploaded it’s always there to post whenever you want!

@PoppyH:  I love posting my ring on Wedding Bee, because it seems like an appropriate forum in which to do so.  I am engaged and I am very excited about my ring and upcoming wedding, and many others on this board are in the same boat. It is great that we can share in each other’s excitement. In normal, in-person life, ring photo-sharing could be seen as annoying, trite, or mistaken for bragging.  Often, people who are not planning weddings find wedding talk tiring and boring.  Why bore them, when you can post away on a site like ths, and share your ring excitement with like-minded people?  I love seeing everyone’s gorgeous rings and hearing their plans!

The only place I’ve posted a photo of my ring is on Facebook. My settings are set to private so that only friends can see it. I don’t have too many Facebook friends, it’s a lot of family members and people I’ve known since elementary school.

I’ve thought about posting photos of my ring, but a few things hold me back.

  1. I’m a private person. Sure I’ll make comments, or make posts on WB, but I don’t share photos because I like being anonymous. I like coming here because it gives me a place to vent and relate to other brides. I want to keep my two worlds separate: the people who know me in real life, and the ones who know me here.
  2. I don’t want to be secretly judged, or read snarky comments about my ring (or any photo) that I post.
  3. This coincides with #1, but it makes me feel uncomfortable knowing a stranger can Google Image my screen name and have all of my personal photos pop up. We all know whatever you post on the internet stays there.

I’ll post it here all day long, but not on Facebook etc. I agree with the PP who said that WB seems like an appropriate place to share, whereas ring photo-sharing could be seen as annoying, trite, or mistaken for bragging with “real” friends.
I have friends who have shared their rings on FB and I don’t mind at all, I just don’t want to offend anyone 🙂

@MsGinkgo:  Haha, yesssss. I’ve posted the same 5-6 pictures of my ring over and over because that’s what’s uploaded here.

Yes, I’ve posted them, but then I get all weird about it and take them down. Currently they reside here, but who knows.

I am just uncomfortable with showing my rings and going on about them when you can put a “hand” to them. lol (sorry)

I know of one person in rl who comes here because I recognized both the story and the ring. She might already have spotted me, but I don’t think she comes around as often as I do.

I post it on here if someone asks to see a pear, since pears tend to be not as popular.  I have never posted my ring on FB

Here, yes, because it is subject matter appropriate. Facebook, no. It would just feel like showing off.

@PoppyH:  I don’t. I’m a really private person and I’m also just not fussed about a ring. I’m in the camp who would have married FI with an onion ring (after I ate it, yum).
