Darling Husband and I both have FB but rarely use it. Our family/friends are always trying to get us to post our travel photos on FB so they can see them since we travel all the time. DH actually despises FB but uses it more for networking.
I have posted a couple of my trips on my FB but since we always take tons of photos, it takes me FOREVER to go through them and decide the best ones….b/c honestly nobody wants to look at 300+ photos of anything.
We went to Oktoberfest last month and got GREAT photos but I’ve been too busy to upload them and it’ll probably be another couple of months before I do b/c we have more travel plans starting this weekend….Darling Husband thinks it’ll be too late to do by then.
Also I should add, that we are more “private” people. I don’t mind sharing MY photos with MY friends but since all DH’s FB friends are former coworkers, if I were them, I’d feel like someone is rubbing it in my face that they are traveling all over Europe….and some of them decided NOT to move overseas.
I’ve also noticed (which is why I included a poll) that some of my friends load albums at a time with 50+ photos, some ONLY use mobile uploads, and some I rarely ever see/hear from them until they post 1 photo of their baby/kid/dog. When I do upload them, I always get tons of comments about where/what something was so I know people look at them.
So just wondering….how often do you post photos on FB???

Rarely, and I try not to put any up with others in them without their permission. I think I only have a half dozen or so on there right now and I only loaded a few onto FB, most of them were put up by others. I don’t like the fact that you can just right click on any photo and save it, kind of freaks me out. I prob have very similar ones on my FB that I have on here.

I voted for “I spend hours going through picking the best ones”, but I never spend hours on it. lol I upload the best ones but it doesn’t take that long to pick through them.

@tksjewelry: The saving part of it freaks out Darling Husband too! He’s in IT so he’s always thinking of that kind of stuff….I also never post photos of other people. I have tons of our friends’ kids doing cute things but I email them those photos. Our FB friends must think we never “socialize” since our pics are always just of us or where we’ve been.

I live far away from most of my friends and family, so I post photos to keep them updated on my life.
I only post some – I already go through all my photos after vacation (to delete duplicates, check for mistakes, etc.) so I don’t think it’s that much extra work.

I always post photos of our holidays, because family and friends are genuinely interested in seeing them. But I’m selective; I don’t post loads of the same thing, and try to limit it to 150 per holiday.
I hate it when people have like 200 photos of the same thing eg them on a night out; their baby; their pets. Unless each photo is really different, it’s boring.

@AlwaysSunny: I used to edit my photos after my trips (years ago)….but this year alone, Darling Husband and I have taken 14 trips plus 8 other one day events. That’s a lot of photos! Last year we took 18 trips not including our wedding and in 2010, we had 24!!!! It seems like once we get home from one, we are planning another….no wonder I’m always pooped!

Eh, I post a bunch of photos, but don’t always post them to FB. Mostly, I’m too lazy. Most of the pictures I post are off my phone, because all I have to do is select them and click to upload. Photos off my camera are upload from the card, resize, color fix, crop, etc. then upload, and that takes forever.

I post photos of important events (like my brother’s graduation) and I usually put my Instagram photos with people in them up as well, but that’s about it. I don’t spend much time on FB, I much prefer Twitter.

I post photos of myself every now and again to use as a new profile photo. I usually post funny photos, or photos of my son that are specific like yesterday for the bears game I posted one with him in his jersey 🙂 but my fb is pretty light hearted 99% of the time and its used to keep in touch with family that I normally would have little contact with. People in other states etc.
@Miss Otter: I can’t tweet to save my life. I just don’t get it lol I cannot get into it at all! and I have tried!

i look through photos and select best ones but literally takes me about 10 minutes…i dont agonise about it
my friends are really laid back so i dont have to worry about people getting upset im uploading pics of them (they all ask me to!) but i dont tag anyone – i leave it to them to decide if they want to or not

I don’t take many photos, and I share some of the ones I do take on FB.
The people I know who take a lot of photos don’t post them on FB as it takes too long (or at least it used to, it’s been a while!).
Have you thought about using something like flickr instead? I’ve only looked at other’s pics there, but I think t has decent privacy controls.

Over share on facebook is getting to be way to accepted. I do upload pictures, but not every single picture I take, and only big events or good things. I mean, does everyone really need to see what I ate every night or every time your kid does something cute….no.

I post a ton of pictures on FB mostly of my son. But I don’t spend hours looking through pictures to post. Maybe an half an hour to forty-five minutes if that at a time posting pictures when I do post pictures. I have my settings on FB so only friends can see.
