Alright bees! I need your expertise! Do you have canvas or prints hanging up at your house? Is there anyone that has both? Which do you prefer?
We’re looking at ordering some of our engagement photo’s to hang up around the house and I need to choose canvas or prints! We have older prints of us from our photographer (from five years back) hanging in our hallway. I think it might be nice to do a gallery look with different sized canvas prints in our dining room (away from the framed prints in the hallway). Am I just overthinking it all? haha
Also, the package we chose with our photographer includes a free 20X24 canvas or framed print. We’re saving this for one of our wedding photos. I would love to see your 20X24’s in perspective (on your wall). It seems pretty large to me and I would love to see how you display yours!

I really do not like canvas prints. I loooooove frames/mats and picking them out! I also fabric-cover some of my mats. I just prefer the look of frames and will probably never get a canvas print.

I think I am going to order a canvas print of our wedding photos when we get them back. I like both but I’m leaning towards canvas these days. They are a little more artsy to me I guess.

I have both kinds in our house. Sort of depends on the space. If I have more open space on the wall, I prefer prints that are framed.

Why wouldn’t you frame a canvas? We have all been to art galleries, and muse, right?

Framed with a matte any day.

@Marlisle016: I like both! We actually have a lot of framed & matted canvas art from our travels in the Caribbean that I absolutely love:)

For larger scale images, I prefer the look of a photo mounted on foam core or styrene. For smaller photos I like a frame.

I prefer the look of frames with mats, but we did get a large wrapped canvas of our favorite wedding photo to go over our bed. DH was against putting anything above our bed for fear of glass smashing on our faces in an earthquake or something, but I talked him into a canvas. Ha.

I always thought I preferred canvas until just recently when I started to really consider it. Now, I definitely want to go the route of frames.

Love the look of canvas pics!

@Marlisle016: If its coming from your photographer, I would go for the print. It has a more classic look and if the deocr in your house changes, it will always fit in

I would prefer having photos on canvas rather than ain frames as the canvas prints are much more durable than frames and also look more elegant.
